Shipping is so pricey on that website. If you’re ordering internationally, I’d say stay with LizardLick (even after shipping it often works out to be cheaper than Canadian sites) or Akihabarashop (for those specialty parts you can’t find on LL).
OMG thank you so much for this thread. I’ve been looking everywhere on the internet for a TE fightstick. I finally ordered the mvc3 one from gamestop, it’s a bonus that it’s the one I wanted the most
Glad someone finally made this FAQ. As I don’t live in Canada I was lacking a lot of information about the Canadian Stick Scene.
I will make sure to Link this on my Stick buying guide to help redirect readers to information that could help them out.
Yeah ordering from the Gameshark canada store is still expensive because they ship from the US. Still better than nothing, since no one else is really carrying TEs anymore.
Nice, ordered my first stick from Canadian Joysticks.
I’m excited. I was getting disheartened when I decided to buy one and couldn’t find one that shipped to Canada or it would take 2 months, luckily I found this thread.
Picked up the Qanba 3 in 1, set to ship the 27th. Thanks! (:
kinda digging this thread up asking this question:
i’m looking to get some sanwa parts in ontario. playdium seems to be the best deal now, with their stick + 8 button deal for $50. i guess nothing has changed since august?
I’ve never had any problems with duties for parts. Conversion rates and conversion fees are what end up making/breaking big orders for me. Also remember that that JLF in playdium doesn’t have a mounting plate, mounting plate nuts and bolts and a 5 pin harness
Just got my Qanba Q4 RAF (black) delivered. Bought it from Canadian Joysticks. It shipped on Jan. 13 and was delivered today and I chose whatever the cheapest shipping option was through Canada Post. So 5 business days to the other side of the country (London, Ontario) is damn good.
The stick looks fantastic and works well. Based on these initial opinions, Canadian Joysticks are totally legit and I recommend them for anyone looking for sticks in Canada. Just keep checking their site to see if any more go in stock. The one I bought was out of stock for a while then randomly one day, they put up 4 more and I jumped all over it.
Yep. I got a JLF from the Playdium store in Montreal (now called Starburst, I think) about 8 months back. No mounting plate, nuts or bolts, or harness; but did come with shaft cover/dustwasher, and a black ball-top as well.
