Magneto makes sense to lock. Sent is meh but since they both play him its tolerable. But locking Storm for Fanatiq ONLY? That’s the most retarded shit I have ever seen. If you’re gonna make it MSS vs MSS than so be it, Fanatiq would do that no problem. But not MSS vs Mag/Sent/free counter or Wesker. Let’s be real, that some dumb shit. TBH the only character that makes sense to lock is Magneto.
TBH the RayRay/Fanatiq MM is only one anyone cared about. The Joker MM was fugazi from jump.

We know Joker for his Magneto/IM/Sentinel team. We know Fanatiq for his Magneto/Storm/Sent team. There’s ample footage of both out there. A character lock is perfectly legit to ask for. Isn’t Fanatiq the dude that kept saying “blablabla MSS STILL TOO STRONG, NIGGAS DONT EVEN KNOW THE DEAL” and is now BACKING out because he has to play his favorite girl, Beyonzo and doesn’t want to be locked into sticking to his guns? Are you fucking serious?
Honestly, even if it wasn’t agreed explicitly, at the end of the day we all expected the money matches to be about these niggas classic teams, not some counterpicking bullshit.
Anyone confident in their team and adaptation skills would accept a team lock, especially when they know the EXACT team the other guy is playing.
It probably has more to do with the fact that they added rules and character lock well after the announcement Nini. Fanatiq read his msgs and there was no mention of it. I was under the impression that is was best for best Mags so as long as that nigga is played, I don’t really care if there’s no char lock. More than likely this is not gonna happen anyway because Fanatiq is still trying to get together the 5.
This argument would work if the MM wasn’t for Magneto vs Magneto. This whole thing is about Magneto vs Magneto, locking out anybody else and you change that. It’s quiet the opposite of what you say. It’s Joker that’s not confident in his team if his resorting to locking Fanatiq out of options.

Are your serious? You think the character lock only affects Fanatiq and Joker can switch out whenever he wants to? Joker is effectively locking himself out of options as well in case you don’t realize. This is supposed to be a test of who is gonna adapt better, and who has the best Mags, not a test of who can counterpick better.
The only thing a character lock does is force you to STICK to your guns, that’s it. If fanatiq is not confident in his storm, fine, he can pick whoever he wants. Just he has to realize he’s gonna have to stick it all the way through with that character. Not so easy to try to counterpick now is it?
PS: pretty sure Joker plays more characters than Fanatiq, so a character lock limits him a lot more.
I have to disagree. when the fuck have you ever heard of a character lock in a money match, like ever? Especially for so much money. Makes no sense.
Show me the official rulebook of money matches. Right, there is none. Players make their conditions, if you don’t agree with the rules, you GTFO, simple as that.

If Im not mistaken Joker said Fanatiq is limited to M/S/S, while Joker is only limited to M/S giving him free reign for his third character. You don’t see anything wrong with that?
I would. If I’m playing anyone for a ft10 I’m going to go on with the ability to use all my options. It was a argument of best mags. Hell then joker said he had to play him on point (eh rayray doesnt hmmm). He keeps adding stupid ass stipulations and then wants Fanatiq to come to him and play in a character locked match. I’m completely neutral in this. I think Fanatiq will beat both of them but I gotta call a spade a spade. Its stupid as fuck to walk into a money match limiting your options unless that was the very basis of the match I.E. Dark prince vs. Jwong. Hell he prolly would still use MSS but its the audacity to put all these silly limits on the other person that is making this fall apart when all Fanatiq asked for was ft15 which is the precedent for these type of things.

If character locking would benefit Joker less than he has no reason to lock anything besides Magneto. You didn’t get my point at all. What I’m saying is Joker seems confident against MSS with his team, where as Fanatiq doesn’t want to risk 5k when Joker could have some crazy tech counter against Storm or Magneto with Iron Man. As a matter of fact, Jokers repulsa blaster backed up by drones might just be a counter against tri jump characters like Magneto and Storm, so it makes sense for Fanatiq to say fuck that, I don’t want to end up fighting a counter with no options against it. Again, it would be like ChrisG locking JWongs Iron Fist against Morrigan. It’s just some dumb shit gimmicks jokers looking for because everyone knows Fanatiq is far more solid play than Joker and his Iron Man gimmicks will ever be.
Edit: Also Joker never said who his third character is locked too. For all we know he could be picking Wesker.
Edit 2: BTW Joker said Fanatiq HAS TO play MSS, he won’t accept anything else. If that’s not a sign of him trying to hustle than I don’t know what is.
Use your head for a second please how the Hell does “adapting” come into play for a specific character locked match that was scheduled weeks in advance, Joker specifically told fanatiq he had to pick magneto, storm, sentinel in that same order so jokers obviously trying his best to find counter tech in advance…

I dont think you’ve ever played anyone in long sets with the same characters. You adapt eventually.
