How do you set extra terms AFTER shit has already been accepted and hype generated? You set the terms BEFORE so everyone knows whats up and people don’t go in with false expectations, not when stuff is already agreed upon beforehand. Have you ever heard of a player telling his opponent he has to play a certain character or team or else he won’t play? I mean, it’s fair to demand Fanatiq plays Magneto, and Sentinel if Joker wants to prove he has the better Mag/Sent, but for Joker to demand Fanatiq to play Storm is quite ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is the demand that Fanatiq starts Magneto, what if he doesn’t start Magneto it’s unfair?
The point doesn’t change whether Fanatiq fanboys cry or not. This is a Magneto vs Magneto, so locking those and at the start make sense somewhat. locking Sent is tolerable as long as it for both. But locking Storm well joker is free to pick his next character is just dumb. This wasn’t a money match for who has the best MSS and unless Joker wants to run MSS himself it’s really a fraud way to go about this. Joker gets to pick a free counter and maybe even get anti-Storm tech? That shit should be left to tournys. Long sets are all about versatility, adapting, and consistency. And part of being the best Magneto means having multiple good teams centered around him to even out those bad match ups or even counter them. Also, having to play FT15 well one of your characters (storm) is countered (if Joker has one or else there’s no point in locking Storm) the entire time is just dumb.
