All your guy’s stuff is great! And SFMC, how do you come with these really great poses?
And on a side note, why did you leave Deviantart?
Thanks Rook. That Vulcan is pretty rad dude. I think you could shift the legs over a tad bit to the right and it will be great. I like how you showcased the raven and not his big ass gun and backpack. More of an intimate feel.
Scissor man - I left because I think the layout for devart is ugly. Sorry to say. Also I think a lot of devart people are more into the most page hits and popularity. Although I would say on the positive side that it’s a great community to get to know other artists. As for the question on poses, just practice everday. Go to a figure drawing class if you can take one. That really helps with anatomy and understanding body flow. Look at your favorite artists and see how they approach it. Hope that helps.
Well anyways here is an early Meryl. Woke up a bit early today and had nothing to do.
thx for the comments man… I know I screwed up the perspective (and therefore the legs etc) big time. Also, forms are sloppy as hell.
My kung fu is weak
killer Meryl pic btw. think it’d be more dynamic if she was looking in the other direction though… either with her head turned to her left, or keep her head the way it is and have her looking out the corners of her eyes.
^^lol, i love it…
Meryl Silverburgh
I’mma have to get down on this…although I wanted to draw Psylocke if there was the COTA challenge. I’ll post my drawing soon.
Interesting pose Dan. Very action packed
Rook - Totally agree with you there mate. It would go good with the sway of her hips wouldn’t it.
Grapple - Yeah i always wondered how he could ever carry that around. Good pic nonetheless.
Axeman thanks for pointing out the sword thing haha.

Is his right arm supposed to be in front of the sword like that?
Kick-ass pic BTW.

Here is my contribution, didn’t like how she turned out though, but I gave it a shot anyways. Used HB lead, ball point black pen, grey tone prisma marker set, no reference besides what Meryl wears. The markers ended up smearing her shirt top so you can probably see the marks on there. Hope you guys enjoy it and also great stuff so far what has been posted. Funny thing is I’ve never played Metal Gear Solid before but I like the drawing jam idea. I’ll continue from her on foward so cyber ninja next.
My contribution. Never played mgs before so my apologies if i took too many artistic liberties. Quick pencils with my 0.5 3B mechanical. Touched up in photoshop.
May or may not color it eventually. The upper body is reffed from a pic of a Meryl cosplayer.
Very nice mkus, I should have used some reference on my pose as well, lesson learned on my side.
Good stuff everyone! ^That Meryl Looks sexay!!!^
Finally got a new camera, here’s liquid snake:
I dunno why those square blocks happened in the background but I left them in. (photoshop ran out of memory maybe?)
Vulcan Raven sketch (work in progress):
Nice stuff Sheng, I’m especially digging how your Raven is starting out. He’s got a really great mood and expression going for him.
that backpack must be HELL
I just dont know how Im supposed to draw meryl. Im having difficulty in making her look both sexy and tough. they either look too hot or too butch.
