I recently made an unarmed character and grabbed pushy as fast as I could. That thing with 100 unarmed is ridiculous. On top of that the perks for unarmed/melee are really really good. Chance to knockdown, Negate 15 DT, +30% attack speed and +50% damage on abominations like deathclaws, centaurs, ghouls, super mutants and nightstalkers. It will be a long time until I get all of those I’m already walking through the game like it’s nothing and taking no damage since I have 9 End and over 30 DT.
I’m with you critting someone from sneak with unarmed is gdlk. Looking forward to getting all of the secret techs. I’ve got the knock down move from level 8.
Unarmed isnt broken, what your talking about is a particular setup where it works very well, you need to be setup for it 2, you cant take your guy with 3 endurance and 3 strength and have him go around raping.
The agility and luck build that most people use for small guns and sneak is pretty stong as well ( i dont think ive come close to dying yet in my 13 hours of EVIL in game play ).
What is Pushy? Is that a weapon? I am interested in this unarmed buffness.
It’s an unarmed weapon that fits on your hand and when you punch someone it sends out a pulse and sends the enemy flying.
Does seem like up close is really strong in this game, seems bizarre (imo) that my pipe kills things twenty times faster than my rifle with 15 melee and 55 gun.
Where do I get it? I just started the game but would like to keep an eye out for it.
Thanks.
You guys always seem to forget, that the way these games are designed is for you to play the role of your created character. Which means using self imposed rules if that’s how you want to role. If you want to play the entire game with a Machete, because that’s how your character does it, then do it that way. The game is designed great, in that you won’t get steamrolled and the challenge will remain worthy.
No matter the build in this game, seems like you can become godlike. However in Fallout 3, that wasn’t the case with Unarmed because it really sucked in that game besides Paralyzing Palm. And in fallout 3 you almost always had to use Small Guns. You couldn’t make a character that avoided combat outright, like you can in New Vegas. New Vegas vanilla, is a much more well rounded game than FO3 vanilla imo. Well rounded in that you can make any type of build you want and be as strong, weak, or as balanced as you want to be.
Also, these games can be real easy, or real hard, it depends on you. If you do a bunch of sidequests, the game is going to be real easy, because your level is going to be very high and you’ll have high stats and strong sidequest reward weapons. If you fast track through the story at low level, the game is going to be difficult battling randoms in the Mojave.
It’s that simple really, if you want to you can just break the game immediately if you’re playing PC version with console “tgm” Again the fun of this game, is that it’s an RPG, and you you stay within the confines of the rules you think the character you created, would follow. At least this is my overall opinion on it.
this video will show you

Also, if you continue to travel down the road next to the mine to jacobstown, there is a quest there that the doctor inside the hotel will give you a quest to go to a cave slightly to the north. In there you can find the super sledge (oh, baby! is the in game name) which also does massive damage.
So i got me a new companion and sent the previous one off to the Lucky 38. Now the problem is that i cant find her at the Lucky 38 and i searched everywhere. Anybody know where the departed companion could be?
Usually just outside the 38 but sometimes they are in the 38 casino near the elevator. When you visit mister house your companions can’t go up to the penthouse so the game automatically makes them wait. I forget to make them follow me all the time because of that.
Veronica is glitched, and glitched bad. Don’t take her until a new patch fixes her.
What’s wrong with her? I’ve had her in my group for a while and the only thing she does that pisses me off is get between me and the enemy so I knock her ass out on accident all the time.
Sarsparilla is delicious as hell.
I think her bug is that she doesn’t level up like other companions, but I dunno it’s boone all the way for me
Just ended up going through a legion camp with him
boone
Spoiler
He tells me, “Look I’m killing every one of those fuckers I lay eyes on, if you have a problem with that then leave”
Meanwhile I’m carrying the chip that gives me access to Caeser himself, only I’m of course at a completely different camp (trying to decode this Platinum Chip at Houses old cabin)
I guess I’ll have to leave him behind when I go to visit Caeser…
that’s what I did too. then I got a bunch of “quest failed” notifications even for quests I didn’t have yet.
then a pack of Legion guys ambushed me after I slept in a “safe house” (just a place out in the open with a bed)… they were very heavily armed. cut me to pieces in like five seconds.
I just had my third freeze up. I think I’m done with this shit for a while. I was already redoing a section of work I put in, since I got killed by a group of Jackals. They’re usually pretty bitch, but one of them looked really heavily armored and ended up taking me out. : / So I start redoing everything I did, then I get a freeze before I save. Ugh.
Oh yeah? I’ll look out for those then. I ended up just buying some Surplus .556 rounds … but then they didn’t show up as ammo. So I just ended up dropping the box, then picking it up again, at which time it added the surplus bullets to my ammo section. This fuckin game … OH - and apparently it won’t let me actually switch over to a new type of ammo, without dropping all other similar types first. My gun was completely empty and I was clicking on the surplus bullets, but it wouldn’t select them. I had to drop the other ones I had in my inventory first. It’s tedious out of combat, but still doable, the problem is if I have to switch ammo types in a fight. Shit is ridiculous.
& yeah, I messed around with ED-E’s settings and now he helps me fight.
Lol, just hit up on the dpad to change ammo types (not sure whAt the button is on pc but probably a number).
Yeah? I thought up was a reload hot key … huh. That would make sense though, since Square already reloads. I still don’t get why it wouldn’t let you change your ammo type in the Pipboy menu though. : u
It’s 2 on the PC to change ammo type in your gun
