I will never play this or any other Fallout/Elder Scrolls game on anything that isn’t PC. The mods are just too awesome to pass up.
Everybody always talks about mods, so I’m curious which ones you guys used. I have Fallout 3 on my pc but never messed with mods because loading them always caused crashes and I got impatient.
Any suggestions?
Anyone playing New Vegas on PS3. I’ve heard that Bethesda games are usually pretty shitty on PS3 because of Framerate issues and more glitches than other systems.
Normally I would just wait but people are saying this game is pretty good despite “common” issues right now.
Been awhile since I played FO3 so I don’t remember most of them but I can remember Mart’s Mutant Mod, Weapon Mod Kits (concept integrated into NV now), Ultimate Perk Pack, and Fallout Re-animated. Most important one I think is the Unofficial Fallout 3 patch. That mod fixed more bugs than any official patch ever did.
That’s actually a reason why despite all the claims of technical issues with NV I’m not too worried and am confident the PC community will put out a comprehensive mod that fixes the 2000 or however many bugs are in the game.
Where can I get those and how do I use them?
If you have both, you know what the safe bet is.
It’s okay so far. I just remember being able to punch the heads off of deathclaws, now my first encounter with a baby deathclaw = death. Also, same exact graphics with better textures for faces.

Just remembered, make sure to grab the Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) and Fallout script extender (FOSE). FOMM helps with and eases the use of managing mods such as setting the load order to prevent potential conflicts between mods and you can use it to boot the game. FOSE is a modder’s resource that provides more scripts and functions, so some mods may require you to have it installed.

Wow. Just hit an invisible wall. This plus damage threshold making me >=/ so far
Just be clever, I killed a lvl. 10 Young Deathclaw as a level 2 Sentinel. Used terrain to block it’s movements and unloaded with Dynamite, crippled the legs and just worked my way down from there.
Did the same thing when I ran across two giant scorpions, I just used the terrain to help me kill them, though one fell through the map with all but the stinger…kind of an easy kill.
It’s not bad, the environment is different enough and they have a few more extra things I can do to waste time like finding recipes or making ammunition.
Some stuff is stupid, I tried to duck and walk through an open window about twice as large as I was and it bugged out, also froze on me about twice now. Stupid FO games and their bugs…
I found out how to improve special stats. There is a doctor in the New Vegas Clinic (a building outside NV/in front of it, just look around) that will give you implants. There’s a bunch. I don’t know how many you can take, it might be dependent on your END rating. The special implants cost 4k caps a pop though.
I need to find a way to make more caps.
So SRK, how do we break this caravan card game? I don’t even know how to play it, but I bet it’s an easy way to make caps.
Edit-Looks like casinos are a good way to make a decent amount of money when you get to NV. If you have a good LCK state it’s pretty much free money on blackjack. I haven’t really tried the other games yet, I probably will after I get banned at all except one casino. There’s roulette and slots, but those seem like they’d be not as sure a thing as blackjack.
They ban you from the casinos if you win too much though. Each casino has their own max jackpot. Wranglers is like 7400, Tops is 12000. There’s at least 2 more I haven’t been banned from yet. This will probably cover implants. Usually they give you some gear and a suite at some point before banning you from the games. They give you your caps though so there’s no real drawback to being banned except you no longer get that easy money anymore. The only thing you really need money for is probably the implants though. Don’t waste money on repairs.
Got the game yesterday but can’t play it due to midterms. I think I’ll do hard with hardcore mode from start to finish. Fallout 3 on very hard was brutal in point lookout and zeta so I think I want to enjoy the game this time lol.
I am guessing that you have to have to separate playthroughs, because from what I am gathering, the mission Wild Card and The House Wins or something, negate each other, you cant do both on the same playthrough, which is hella lame…I hope I am wrong, if not, oh well, I will just have two different saves from the same point.
what kind of gear you guys have so far?
I’ve got Vance’s 9mm Submachine Gun, the All American (m4 with a scope and camo), guass rifle, a sniper rifle in perfect condition (when i found it, it was in shit condition and cost around 6k to get it in good condition), light machine gun and riot shotgun.
For armor I’m using vault 34 riot gear which is the best light armor in the game (15 dr I believe) and the riot helmet (4 dr) or Boone’s Barret (+1 Per, +5 crit)
I’m still at level 3. I just fought those Nightkin last night. They were tough, but I helped one of them out, named Davison, and he left.
Should I spend a day playing NV or go to work and make $500? On the one hand, NV is more fun, on the other, I like money. Of course if I didn’t have these student loans I probably wouldn’t care much about money too much either.

Is anyone getting mission complete or pipboy glitches on the 360?
I’ve only had it freeze a couple of times. No weird glitches like people flying around or mission’s getting fucked up yet.
Hardcore + Wild Wasteland is the only way to play New Vegas
I’ve had a lot of places where the event script just doesn’t occur or is really a hassle to get to kick in. PC version already has a patch I believe.
This game was done over a month ago, how the fuck did they not test for bugs? There is no excuse for this.
So far the bugs haven’t frozen the game or anything, which is good. FO3 had a ton of freeze bugs for me.
There was one funny thing though for me where the feral ghouls attacked a non-feral ghoul. Dunno if that guy was supposed to be a companion or not, if he was, I won’t be able to recruit him this playthrough because he got slaughtered.
