I should have a copy of XP Pro SP3 somewhere, so the software shouldn’t be a problem. Outside of the OS pretty much everything I run is free anyway. I have a copy of Office XP somewhere too.
It looks like that minitower on there has room for a water cooling unit. I actually wanted to try that out anyway. I’ll look into this.
So I essentially just need to grab every part on one of the two links you gave me right? I suppose I have a bit of a choice on the vidcard. I hear nowadays building a system is really easy since nothing really conflicts like it did back in the day. I just never got around to trying to build one before.
My current laptop can’t really run NV :(. I wound up completing Force Unleashed II though. Fable 3 should fill the void for awhile.
Not really her killer, but the person that sold her into Legion slavery. Pick the safe in the front desk room, or you can pick her pocket Jeanie May Crawford I believe, and then check the safe. You will find a bill of sale. That’s all you need, have her go in front of the Dino and Boone will take care of the rest. Then tell Boone you found the bill of sale and he will join you if you want him to.
Nah, she’s definitely dead. I don’t want to spoil it, unless of course you want me to, but you need to build trust with Boone and eventually he will tell you how he knows she is dead. There’s a couple of speech options after he tells you, there’s actually one I want to try that I never have before, just to see how he reacts. I was always afraid he’d leave me but now I think maybe he wouldn’t even if I picked it.
That’s kind of the problem though, this game never works. I have Fable 3 so I might as well play through it. I liked the 2nd one for awhile, I’d like to at least try the 3rd. It’ll actually be good for me once I get through these games so I can start working out again like I like to, and maybe start putting in some OT at work to make more cash.
I wonder how hard it would be to port things from Deadly Reflex in Oblivion over, seeing as the Fallout engine and Oblivion engine are the same and implementing mods into both games share a lot of similarities.
Yeah I’ve always wondered why Deadly Reflex didn’t get a shot on Fallout. But, the creator SkyCaptain I guess just didn’t do it.
I had uninstalled Deadly Reflex though after awhile, cause it had a lot of incompatibilities with other mods I liked using at the time.
The diversity of mod creation is so good between Oblivion and Fallout though, justifying playing both at any given time. Although, Oblivion’s modding is waaay ahead, however… just recently I think for Oblivion a mod was created for eating kind of like New Vegas hardcore and FO3’s FWE. Oblivion should’ve been had something like this though. But Oblivion is still so far ahead, I’ve yet to see something for Fallout 3 as large as FCOM.
I honestly really want to see a mod that allows you to dual wield some pistols in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. How cool would that be, and also a mod that allows you to strike unarmed with some kicks or somethign while you’re holding a two-handed weapon, or gun butt or something.
I had a feeling I needed to pick the safe but my locksmith skills isn’t up to par and I can’t find a trader with a locksmith magazine soo ill just pick pocket it from that lady. lol @ that crazy ass nobark dude.
I was really sad that Novac gets a bad ending if the rockets crash (i.e. I killed those ghouls on purpose, or well got that other dude to do it).
When I looked it up on the wiki, Novac has NO way to get a good ending. Sucks because it was like my homebase of operations for the whole game, that motel room was more well stocked than a damn NCR outpost. I probably should have felt bad making boone come back with me and having all those memories of his wife, but after I helped him get over it (and after we destroyed the legion) I guess he should be happier now.
I liked how it showed how each faction you interacted with and how your choices played out in the end for them. Most stuff turned out ok, but since I skimped a lot of the side quests at the end (didn’t help the followers with supplies, never helped the NCR destroy the powder gangers fully, didn’t help the Nightkin at Jacobstown) come back to give you less than perfect endings. But it was really cool and dynamic. I let Rex and Boone die in the final battle too so now I wish I knew what their ending woulda been for me. Got Rex a new brain and helped Boone get over his past.
BTW my guy was a pretty smooth talker, I got the Legion to leave just through speech checks at the end. I was basically like “Legion, you guys are spread too thin, keep pushing west and you’ll lose the east. Now get the fuck back east.” then went to NCR and was like “Surprise, look at this robot army I have! Now you pack up your army and get your ass back west, this desert is mine” then proceeded to rule the entire thing on my own. I mean not like I was cut out to be a ruler, but with 100 speech I guess people don’t mind following me.
Yep, that’s why I said before you want a high luck. You don’t need to max it out though, right around 7 is good enough actually. I usually got it to 9 and then got the implant to get it to 10 anyway for the crit modifier, but so far in this game I haven’t found a decent crit weapon that it would have made a real difference with anyway.
diversity of mods?
I checked out Oblivion mods awhile back to see if there was anything that warranted another playthrough but 90% of them seem to be for making the female models look like ridiculous anime porn dolls with fetish costumes.
This game seems quit a bit tougher than Fallout 3. Ive died at least 7 or 8 times on the quest I just finished up, I dont think I ever died on 3. Maybe the quest I did was for a higher level and I should have just waited a while to do it.
Also they cluster enemies too; Black Mountain is ridiculous. Theres places with lots of enemies in 3 but black mountain alone may be more clustered than anything in F3, except that spaceship.
I could unarmed punch a pack of Super Mutant masters, AND deathclaws to death by level 10 in F3. I felt invincible by 15. But you did have twice as many perks by whatever level in 3.
Not sure how I want to play this. I have a 7 hour file that I started day one, so I havent done SHIT, and not sure of my build so far. I might restart. I’m thinking of doing it like I did F3. One play that what ever happens, happens, and one after the GOTY with a “perfect build” where I do 100% exploration/mission, sans anything that might not be available due to factions, ect.
