As someone who loved FO:NV but stopped playing it because how buggy was on PS3, i am going to get this on PC, mods will make it better, not to mention the fan community fixes for the inevitable crashing bugs.
Something about it just bored the shit out if me. All the fucking gray didn’t help either. I understand that its after a nuclear apocalypse but that doesn’t mean I enjoy looking at it. Not to mention there isn’t a single memorable character in the game. Best they had was the intelligent mutant, and the guy who tells you that tunnel snakes rule. Funnily enough though I didn’t know you aren’t supposed to kill him when you escape the vault. As soon as I seen him destroyed him with a baseball bat.
I didn’t particularly enjoy how they did degrading weapons either
Gonna admit the 1950s art style is starting to wear a lil thin on me but fuck it, proper cities and a proper Brotherhood of Steel return will make this a day 1 purchase for me.
Being in Boston is cool. I wanted for the series to have a game on an east coast location. Judging from the trailer the game might be shortly after the bombs dropped.
I have NO TIME for this type of game nowadays. I don’t even know how I am going to do this. My woman is going to leave me for sure if I get this game lol.
I don’t know how much New Vegas will fix your problems then. Game play is basically the same, much better NPC management though. Color pallet is a bit broader and brighter, but you’re basically exchanging urban decay for desert.
The weird factor is much higher though, most especially if you select the game option that adds in extra weird, so stuff and/or the writing will probably be more memorable/noteworthy for you.
The first time I saw the legionaries in New Vegas I killed them, and they would track me down every once in a while while roaming the wasteland. That shit fucking sucked until I finally leveled up. They had me sweating like a muhfucka.
I’m going to guess the intro/tutorial is going to be pre war, basically being a young, innocent kid while setting up/forshadowing a conflict, maybe some you have a childhood friend whose parents couldn’t afford a place in the vault is going to become a brutal warlord in the wasteland. You end up in the vault. Indoctrination, pip boy, s.p.e.c.i.a.l, Time skip. Shit goes down in the vault, you leave. Thus begins your hundreds of hours of stealing needles, drinking toilet water and blowing the heads and limbs off anyone with a punk rock haircut.
For me, Fallout 3 was so boring I didn’t care about the daddy story and never even completed it. New Vegas, though, is one of my favorite games of all time.
I liked the first fallout, but the world was so uneventful. You had crazy events and battles in Fallout 1 & 2, then in 3, you just wander through rubble until some random fucktard pisses you off. Then you get your accuracy with guns so good that you just snipe shit to death from across maps, and the challenge level is gone.
