It seems so insignificant, that it shouldn’t discourage anyone. That’s part of my problem with it, when the best strategy is to ignore it. If you respect Fang’s v-trigger, you’re screwing yourself over.
Of course, I haven’t played him yet, this is just based on the footage I’ve seen. I hope I’m wrong.
I’ve been playing a few more matches with him, I’m starting to get it but I think I’m missing some vital stuff tbh. I’m at about 30% sync with this character right now… I like him but I just don’t see our relationship going the distance :s
I just had my first match against a competent Zangief, still making a lot of mistakes but I’m getting there. I didn’t want to be close to him at all… I was terrified in the last round lol
I knew this guy would be super annoying and that ex fireball is good. So the bottom one bounces. Crazy lol. So we have to get in fast and RAPE him hard.
Saw Alioune play F.A.N.G in a French tournament. He did poorly, but he showed off some interesting tech. It seems the ground stance kick attack is very + on block and significant to F.A.N.G’s offensive game.
His V-Reversal is also interesting because it seems to let him close in on characters and punish someone that’s throwing fireballs. I think I saw him V-Reversal Nash’s fireball and then grab him before he could do anything.
And they do waaaaayyyy too little damage. The poison is too weak to justify it IMO. Alioune was getting blown up partly because his damage output wasn’t remotely comparable to everyone he was fighting. So if he and his opponent were going blow for blow, he’d lose every time.
The trade of is his stun output. He can stun you in 2 combos with ex bar, guess that’s a trade off? Anyone got a time stamp of alioune playing luffys Nash? Couldn’t find it
Sim can not react to FANGs stuff I am pretty sure. Even the fireballs. Remember, Sim has to react (say 15f), input his tp motion (around 15f), the tp animation has to complete (55f) and his jump attack needs to come out (4+f). That’s 89f if Sim is perfect.
And why are you saying you can not get in? You have way more life than Sim and you can poison Sim from far, effectively making sure he can not sit back and turtle with his 900 life that is depleting. Sim should be the one who wants to get in in this MU imo.
I asked Art earlier and he wasn’t sure; can FANG just coward crouch on reaction to teleport? I am curious if it will go under j.HP or Gale on the instant air teleports. I guess maybe you could do something like down drill and tag him even if those don’t hit?
On a side note, has anyone tested for sure what FANG’s health and stun values are? The in-game “meter” thing (as well as the “power cards” and stuff on the official site) seem like it would indicate he has 1,000 health, but folks were saying he has 950?
I beliebe FANG’s d+PPP has around 7 start up, which means that it won’t work on a tight Sim tp set up, and if it isn’t tight, FANG can do cr.hp instead of d+PPP
