Combo said early he was a charge, I figure its still that way until otherwise stated. They honestly aren’t comfortable with his current build so they don’t want to release him, take shit away, then when the game drops people cry bloody murder.
Like Chun!
They’re probably having issues balancing the DOT mechanic since they’ve never dealt with that before. I’m betting he’s super strong at the moment. They’re going to have to make him super slow or something. I actually think it would be cool if they made him have like 700 health but when the poison took away opponent’s health it restored his own.
700 health would be awful. He’s get instagibbed at 75% by half the cast.
A lot of important decisions can get made once a game is mostly done, because a lot of things only become apparent when a game is mostly done and you can test things properly. They probably left Fang for last specifically so they’d be able to test him against the rest of the cast and make sure that his gameplan works, but doesn’t shut anyone down. Probably the same reason why Dhalsim was announced second to last.
I wonder if they are having issues with his fireballs shutting down characters. I’m guessing some character will have big issues with them.
Sounds about right, the average, casual hates zoning, Sf4 days I’ve never received so many hate messages and rage quits from playing keepaway Chun
I just hope he’s not too gutted, and please don’t nerf the anti air button
From what I’ve been hearing it does sound like it has been pretty difficult to balance him so far. Most likely why we haven’t gotten public play time with him yet.
I’d rather FANG be broken at release and people find something about him they like than he be garbage and no one gives him a chance. Even if he gets nerfed, Capcom will have a better idea what to do with the former rather than the latter.
He looks like he has no chance at being garbage. Has long ass normals in a game where normals among parts of the cast are shorter than IV, has a pertinent zoning game and has a V Skill/Trigger that compliments the white chip system nicely.
Yeah, I like the length of his normals from what I see. Against Necalli who can just blow through projectile zoning but has slow normals a footsie battle might be Fang’s best bet. I think this matchup will leave no room for error.
Dhalsim, on the other hand…Outside of random teleport what can he do? The regular fireball will kill float and Yoga Fire, and you can’t punch poison bomb.
Can nash, bison or ryu parry/absorb the poison?
Can nash, bison or ryu parry/absorb the poison?
No one knows shit about this guy
Can nash, bison or ryu parry/absorb the poison?
the poison balls? I don’t see why not, however the vskill poison shot he won’t be able to parry/absorb as it has no hit/hurt box.
We don’t even know if it clashes with projectiles
Or do we
Hmmmmmmmmm but it can be destroyed though by projectiles…so it has to have a hitbox.

Can it be destroyed? The v skill I mean. I don’t think I have seen that.
It would make sense to me that it could. If someone fired a projectile at the poison why would the poison go through it? Wouldn’t make sense. I think people are getting confused with hitbox vs hitstun. Which the poison has 0 hitstun. Or if it does then it’s VERY minimal.
Horizontal poison has no hitstun
Yea I think combo said as much in the ign video. Zero hitstun, it’s unblockable. I’ll look through the video again in a minute, don’t think any projectiles were thrown at the same time.
Good question. V-Skill poison doesn’t have a hitbox and is unblockable so who knows what the rules are?
