Hum, the poison effect doesn’t seem to last as long as I thought.
Pretty sure it’s been changed since the ign video.
Combos poison lasted way longer.
I’m not sure it is any different, he just isn’t applying it as much as he’s not really throwing any V-Skill orbs out. Combofiend was very active about keeping V-Skill orbs on the screen.
Does poison stack?
Sadly no, only refreshes the timer it seems.
Would’ve been nice if it stacked twice at least For example, the V-skill Poison would stack with the Special Poisons, but neither would stack with themselves.
At some point, they say the poison cant KO. They were talking about v-trigger (or V-Skill? the unblockable) at the time, but the poison effect seems to be the same.
throws two fireballs each time.
Can place a poison wall that last for a few seconds.
He’s pretty well rounded. He seems to have tools for a lot of situations.
I really like that the v-trigger is dynamic. When i first saw it i was unimpressed but realized that in real situations its a fantastic addition.
You can use it extend damage in combos (i hope he has a reliable way to combo to and from), for pressure, or as a deterrant to the opponent during to allow/enhance keepaway
Looking at the match again I think the poison should definitely last a bit longer. The last time Cammy gets poisoned you can see that by the time it runs out (in about 10 seconds) it has done maybe 100 to 150 damage at most.
If the poison doesn’t do more damage in the long run than any other special move that does its damage immediately, then there’s not much incentive for the opponent to get impatient in trying to get in.
I would advocate for the poison to last about twice as long so that the opponent runs the risk of serious damage if he doesn’t try to do something about it, otherwise the whole poisoning concept is just a visual gimmick and Fang would be better off having regular projectiles.
1 and 3- Tbh fuck make it last longer, imho it last alredy too much and feel invasive.
Wich DON’T mean nerf it, i will accept poison being more powerful/faster but lasting less… even if at the end it inflict the same dmg (but in less seconds), it will actually be a buff for Fang.
A cool alternative will be make it gradually vanish, so first seconds drain more HPs than last ones, until zero dmg.
So maybe they can keep the visual effect annoying af for first seconds, then tone it down gradually
2- 100/150 FREE dmg is not low btw.
Poison is not all the dmg you’re supposed to do during these seconds, is an addition to all the long bitchslaps and kicks you will do.
Imagine to poison your opponent for a complessive time of 30 seconds, that will be 300/450 FREE meterless automatic dmg, while you add your attacks.
Also the other is supposed to expose himself attacking you, wich combined with Fang’s range seem good as CC potential, even just to score knockdown, gaining poison-seconds
Imho he sound like will be the last character you want use to do a comeback, but also the last you want have against in that situation
Without that much footage out there, we only have a basic idea. But the core of it seems pretty strong in neutral:
Use your unblockable or arching fireballs to get a poison stack
Opponent comes in to try and remove stack
Use superior limbs to poke them to death
On offense, he has a bunch of traps, tricks and setups. The fact his AA is so good means you are going to have to approach him on the ground, which means you HAVE to eat a unblockable stack.
This character has all the framework of a really strong trap character. Make the opponent go exactly where you want them to, because thats where he NEEDS to go.
I like it. Certainly the most interesting of the released characters so far.
WTF did I just hear? I mean it’s not necessarily bad, it’s just totally not what I would’ve expected.
I’m getting visuals of a 1960s Bond villain in my head…
Kick ass theme.
FANGs theme is everything
it fits his eccentric psychotic personality perfectly.
That’s way too suave. Something like the twins Chinese knock off bond theme would be a better fit.
that is awesome.
This guy loves the number 2 so much that he stands 222 cm, but he only achieves this feat with his hat.
Oh yeah nice and smooth. Gives me that movie vibe like Yun/Yang’s theme.
Even his theme was a surprise just like him.
