F.A.N.G. Combo/Tech Thread

Think I read just to replace lp with lk on crouched opponents?

I can’t play the game at the moment, so I’m just theory framing for others to test ; st.LK is +5 on hit and has 3 active frames, so a meaty st.LK is at best +7, not enough for a st.HP link. However, maybe you can do st.LK>st.MP>MP Sotoja, or st.LK>cr.MP>LP Sotoja.

I’ve found since they added a frame to a few of his normals that combos are easier to pull off in season 2, and that st.LP at three frames is better than expected. In all he seems way better this time around.

I’ve tried it really quick, and under circumstances that I can’t reproduce consistently yet, st.LP>st.LP>stMP>LP Sotoja works on crouching opponents (Necalli in my test).

The sLK,sLP,sLP sHP combo seems to be a bit harder on certain characters…cant get it on Fang consistently, but can on Ken and ryu. Might just be imagining it though.

Is J.hk to s.hk still possible? I havent been able to do it since the update.

Also his vskill change seems to only work from cancelling from a normal. So it’s nice that fang can be more mobile. But I was hoping for being able do raw moves with no charge.

Overall only time will tell if he was effectively nerfed or buffed. So far I like the changes

Can someone explain the st.LK st.LP st.LP st.HP combo to me. I do not understand how to put a meaty jab inside a combo.

Fang last active frames of his jap actually have a different hitbox and more range, so this spacing make it so that the push pack and advantage is just right

Hmm I will try this later than, hope it works.

Fang last active frames of his St.lp actually have a different hitbox and slightly more range, so this spacing make it so that the push back and advantage is just right for the last active frame of St.lp to connect which leave Fang plus +8, thus able to link St.HP. The spacing must be on point otherwise St.lp will whiff, after Senpukuga is fairly easy to land its consistently.

Hk-lp-lp-hp-sotoja?

St.hk>walk forward>st.lp>st.lp>st.hp

Timing is kinda tight and I think it’s different on certain characters.

I’ve not tried from a cross up but its still possible from a neutral jump, although timing is stricter.

I thought the same about his VT. Still lots of experimenting to do but it does make stHP, Nishkyu a load easier.

Here’s a quick demonstration of some of the ways to combo into the meaty st.LP. I didn’t get everything though, and I’m sure people will figure out more ways.

I apologize for the poor video editing :D.

I was messing around with cr.hp and saw that it has different properties now, there’s probably slicker stuff than this but it’s a start.

Good stuff Rhyllis

btw… throw loop is gone :frowning:

Lol was messing around with this stuff in VT earlier, and thought I was just being gimmicky. Cool to see someone come up with some solid mix ups from it. Good shit.

It’s only on quick rise but on back tech it’ll be a meaty cr.mk, if you see that they didn’t tech you can react after dash and place mk ryobenda down and still have time to do the og dash mixup.

With this new tech and season 2 changes its possible to dizzy in 2 combos in a plausible setup.

Senpukuga, LK, LP, LP, HP, EX Nishikyu. (Normal recovery)
HK Nikankyaku, LP (CH), HP, EX Ryobenda, EX Nishiku

Only tested against a 4f jab but stunned a 1000 point stun character (Ken)

I’m sure there will be more but just wanted to quickly check if a 2 combo stun was possible.

Sorry, was too lazy to make a video -_-

I don’t get it… I keep seeing all these tech vids showing off F.A.N.G’s new linking stLP > stLP > stHP, but no matter how hard I try I canNOT get that HP to connect. StLP > stHP is fine… piece of cake… no issue there. But even if I use double-tap technique, getting two LPs and a HP to link just won’t work for me. What gives? What could I be doing wrong?

Rhyllis method is the most consistant to do. Although ive only gotten the opportunity to do it a few times during matches. I get it 100% in training mode. Use c.PPP x kicks s.lp s.lp s.hp… I do it NOT on counterhit.

I haven’t been able to get it working at all.
