Exposed! Ashley Madison, Cheating Dating Site, Hacked!

(Sigh. Why can you guys never talk about religion civilly? This is precisely the reason why it should have never come up in this thread.)

I can understand being skeptical about The Big Bang, but I never got how The Big Bang is somehow less improbable than a supposedly all-powerful, all-knowing, all-present and reportedly all-good sentient entity that similarly has no discernible origins and supposedly either just popped into existence or somehow “always was”. It’s just kind of amusing is all, especially since it’s only really monotheism that does; basically every other religion has a creation event where the gods are born; meanwhile Yahweh/God/Allah just is…somehow. It’s even more amusing since “intelligent design” argument, for starters, inherently presumes we are capable of knowing if this is the first and only “try” of the universe and tends to ignore of all the vestigial or plainly detrimental parts of biology.

Anyway, getting back on the actual topic, despite the fact that I would like Ashley Madison to be liable at least in part for this data breach, they seem to have protected themselves (and only themselves) against such a thing in their “fine print” from the get-go:

I guess I can’t say I’m surprised. I’m just not sure whether to applaud them for the forethought, even if it’s standard legal practice and people not reading the fine print is expected, or to be mad that this makes the hack even more pointless and damaging only to everyone else than it already was. Seriously, the only way it seems like they’ll suffer from this is if people wise up for once and realize that joining it isn’t worth the trouble, if only because your privacy can be breached. Given that was already the case in the first place and given people will likely still be desperate enough to try, however, I again hold little hope for humanity. (Like with all of you.)

FUCK!

Yeah that’s sorta ridiculous. You’re pretty much being strong armed

And even then it’s not really removed, and still stays on their servers, because they are assholes.

I think it’s BS that these people got hacked and had their private information leaked out. They revealed basically everything from member info to internal documents. Does anyone know the main reason for the attack? If it’s because AM allows people an easier way to have an affair, I really doubt that will solve anything. I think that the people that joined the site were going to look for extramarital affairs regardless. I mean how easy is it to get on POF, okCupid, supermarket, etc and meet someone new. The type of culture that we live in today supports and allows random and multiple NSA style relationships, at least in USA. Not only that, but marriage nowadays is a sham. There are so many people that get married for a few years and divorce. At the trade school I went to it seemed like half the guys were getting fucked over by their ex-wife either through baby mama drama or having to give away half of everything they owned. It seems that marriage is more a business transaction than an emotional connection to someone else. And kids are nothing more but bargaining chips.

So yeah, I don’t blame anyone that joined that website. For one reason or another, they weren’t happy with their relationship and instead of living as a prisoner in a ‘boring’ relationship, they were brave enough to say fuck that, imma take control of my life and get what I want.

(Indeed, it’s hardly surprising that the people at Ashley Madison are such assholes.)

Even ignoring the morality of cheating, just the things that their “fine print” details makes it pretty clear what type of people you’re dealing with even before the whole “basically blackmail people to pay for not really getting rid of information” thing.

Actually, now that I think about it, maybe they’ll be able to be sued for that even if they can’t be sued for the breach itself.

At present, what I put in bold is basically most of the pretext for the hack that has been given at present, at least from what I remember. It’s so people can “reflect and learn” or some bullshit. I know the hackers also made a point of letting out the fact that Ashley Madison wasn’t really getting rid of information like they supposedly told their members they did when fleecing them for the “service”, but given that knowledge of that information had to come after, it’s unlikely that was part of the initial reason for the hack unless one or more of the hackers is part of Ashley Madison itself.

It’s literally always been like that and will continue to be, especially what I put in bold. That it has any actual significance beyond a business transaction is just an illusion. Not that you can’t genuinely care for the person (or people) on the other hand of said business transaction, but at the end of the day, marriage is just a legal matter.

Then they should have gotten a divorce or, better yet, not have been duped into getting married in the first place even if I’ve already pointed out how much social and religious (and familial) pressure there is to do so. People who joined the website and intended to use it for cheating are totally to blame even if the website itself isn’t to blame for being the reason they cheat since, at best, it’s just an enabler.

Yeah, there’s really no excuse for cheating. If you wanna be with someone else, fucking break up or divorce the other person, it’s real simple. I feel like a lot of times people are attracted to the taboo of it. “Oh, it’s wrong and that make it hotter.” And that’s incredibly fucked up, especially in marriages where there’s children involved.

a large proportion of people who cheat don’t want to permanently leave their spouses. that’s why cheating is a tricky situation to begin with. even if divorces become easier or less expensive, the person cheating will rarely want one. if the person being cheated on doesn’t know about the affairs, they have no reason to want a divorce, either. i assume that most people cheat not because divorces are too difficult, but because they want the best aspects of a new relationship and the comfort and security of a marriage that they think they can always fall back on as long as they don’t get caught. besides, if divorce laws were the main issue, rates of cheating among unmarried partners would be a lot lower than for married spouses, and i’m not aware of any evidence supporting that.

You are really stretching speaking for every cheating spouse ever. I strongly disagree.

Even more so, the cheating spouse that is only trying to get a kick at the expense of their partner is the epitome of asshole that the other partner should be able to easily divorce when that deception is uncovered. The way it is now your spouse can cheat and you still have to go through an awful divorce process just to get rid of them. It works both ways. The best solution is de-antagonizing the divorce process. That works best for everyone.

Divorce is anything but simple. As it stands now, there is no way to break from a marriage without incurring substantial losses. The whole process should be reworked to take both partners into consideration as well as any children from the union. In fact, it might even be optimal to separate child custody from the process altogether, since 90% of the time that the source of conflict. If parents knew they are going to be excluded from the civil process regarding child custody and that standard custody was most likely to be granted to both parents then they wouldn’t even try to play the bullshit that is currently possible by both mothers and fathers.

As it is, most high conflict divorces regarding children exclude the parents from the process anyway. That’s what a mediator is for. It’s essentially a lawyer for your children and not for you or the other parent. It’s sad,but that’s what family courts have come to. Parent’s don’t even get to decide what happens in their family. That should be the default unless both parents agree to cooperate in the procedure. Just cut out all that bullshit and essentially force both parents to work together.

Anyway, I’m done ranting about divorce. The process is much crazier than you ever imagined until you’ve been through it. It’s just nutz and there are a lot of unhappy people out there who are stuck in marriages because they don’t want to go through it.

Disliking it for that is fine. I’m ok with websites being there for hooking up but i’ve never liked that AM was there with the explicit intention of cheating on your partner. Discussing marriage as a beneficial social function needs a more examination than something attached to theological underpinnings.

Religion may have people treat marriage more seriously but it hasnt necessarily lead to better marriages. The reasons for it being borked as a facet of human life have little to do with how much or how little religion there is in the marriage.

Getting a Divorce or just leaving isn’t always so easy the long a relationship lasts. Emotional attachment, possibility of abuse, children, It’s not as black and white. Doesn’t help that many people just aren’t willing to cope and talk things through. Some even just accept the business part of marriage and still just date others. Humans are self destructive and fragile.

I beg to differ.

If your imaginary friend was actually real and not ancient made up nonsense, His reality is pretty grim. The biblical god stays taking L’s. Failed at making humans on the first try, failed at humans when he started over. Had to kill himself to try and compensate. His arch enemy pretty much runs shit where people actually live etc etc etc.

I would say most importantly however, is that he has losers like YOU as followers. Fuck outta here, you lame fuck.

LOL He’s also weak vs. Iron chariots.

Remember, people. The Bible was written by people a long long long long long long… LONG… long time ago. The Fucking bronze age. To them, doing massive shit like an entire chariot infantry out of iron was about akin to us getting hit by an EMP nuke or some shit.

It’s all man-made.

On topic: cheating sucks. But that’s no reason to fuck up someone’s life over. In the end, move on, and be glad you discovered it as soon as you did.

I legitimately don’t care about anybody on that site. I don’t care in the least that their lives are fucked.

Is funny how this kind of thread bring the dumb luckers from srk.

Edit

I am talking about the fools that on this day and age still believe on imaginary friends and fairy tails.

  • It means the Big Bang is not an argument against Intelligent design and it was never made as one. It was actually a theistic theory made to refute atheists who (at that time) claimed that the Universe and it’s energy was eternal. LMAO at you asking “have you went to school” to not even know that. Everybody knew Genesis is a metaphor even during the time the Bible was canonized, no one ever believed Genesis or the majority of the OT to be intentionally literate other than Southern american hill billies and Atheists. It was taught to be a metaphor by guys like Tertullian, St Augustine, and mostly everybody during the first years of Christianity.

  • Show me why it is logical to conclude or even assume that it was all accident and then i will change my mins?. Why should I care about the words of old people in BC when I can go to real scientists like Newton, Galileo, and Kepler who state that the universe had to be designed? In this universe we have the ecosystem, evolution, biology with it’s systems, animals and how they behave the moment they are born… all that brilliance this universe has and yet according to you (and the rest of the girlymen who yapping out “imaginary friends”), it is logical to be an accident? Your “giant dragon” part is dumb. What if some assbutt tries to refute my reasoning of this machine being made by an intelligence with “why not giant dragons or pink bunnies d” when i’m telling them that the machine i have was made, wouldn’t that be silly of them?

  • You are right, i never had billions of years to look over therefore I just don’t believe the random shit on the internet about god doesn’t exist, i need good visual data to see that it is possible for any brilliant working system to just produce itself. If i should be settled in the belief that the Universe --with all it’s systems-- is just accident then i am forced to believe in the possibility of other systematical realities such as Computers, Books, Video Games, and websites just producing itself out of thin air. LMAO at you mother fuckers pointing what is magic and imaginary.

  • I am a man and I base my shit on sight, I don’t need to at least a good example/demonstration to help give credibility for an alternative conclusion but I just don’t have any visual examples of working systems just happening out of thin air so if you reply with out giving me something to see that it is possible then you are arguing based on feelings (like a girl). You atheists can cherry pick verses and label imaginary friends all you want, but you’re knowledge is just as useful as some nut telling me that the computers, books, video games, etc etc just made itself.

Oh look, the perpetually refuted intelligent design talking points!

Don’t waste your time on this moron, fellas. Ontological argument FTL!

Stop feeding the troll.

If you love God that much, eat a bullet so you can high five Him faster.

I’ve been nice enough to let your first post go but you just posted again with nothing other than insults at me, seeing that you are also just 3 years on this site then it is rather obvious that you don’t know who you are dealing with. Odin is currently KO’d, so If I am a moron then why not answer in replace of him. Do what he could not do, show me an example of all that i have mentioned being popped out of thin air… but i know you can’t so suck it.

By any chance Cisco, are you catholic? A lot of your positions seem to imply that you may be.
