I’m ok with people who are into online hook ups, no problem but i am not supportive of Adultery. It’s not because of religion or theology that adultery should be viewed as wrong. It is wrong because it does bring allot of pain to other people, there is no theology in determining that. I’m not a pro marriage guy nor am I talking for the sake of the enforcing of religious ideals. I understand that there are situations in where Divorce is the best choice to make but at the same time I do think that marriage should be treated seriously (with respect and value). It should be taught to young people that it is a decision that requires allot of wisdom. While it is true that our crave for sex is pat of our nature that doesn’t mean it should rule over the feelings of other people whose lives are connected to you. Adultery can lead to life long emotional pain, and just to put someone through that because the person wants sex is complete assholery. Sex being the only thing that makes us fully happy is not a good way to view life.

If you’re getting married for access to sex, thinking that you’re “entitled” to sex because you’re married, then it’s clear you don’t understand what marriage is all about. I feel like the meaning of marriage is deteriorating further and further.
I also don’t see what that has to do with being Christian, Catholic, or Atheist (I’m agnostic if that matters).
The problem is that these perfect systems you talk about are actually not so perfect. The human body and many other forms of life, also have a vast amount of imperfections.

That is an extreme position fallacy. What part of what I said even suggested getting married for access to sex? I did post about people, like Jehovah’s Witnesses and other extremist religions/cults that force their members to get married in order to access sex, but that is (by nature of the words “extreme” and “cult”) an extreme position in of itself.
I definitely understand that any romantic relationship has sex at it’s very foundation. Okay, I’m willing to admit that there might be (again) extreme exceptions to that, but you cannot deny the basic fundamentals of the Human sex drive. How many sex scandals does it take for people to realize that sex is very important to Human beings? The need for sex is what drives relationships, which in turn drives marriage! How can you not see that?

Why is this the case and why does it have to be the case?
It seems that this is the reality in today’s society, but again…why? I think this is just one of many human irrationalities…the importance of sex for them, the lengths that people would go even if it can lead to losing friendships, going to jail, etc. It just doesn’t make sense…it shows the general weak mindedness of humanity in general if they cannot deny/resist their sex drive. I would like to believe that people are better/stronger than that.

No. It’s your nature. There is a such a thing as DNA, and it dictates exactly what we will become. Our DNA, that of Human beings dictates that sometime around the teenage years we will develop sexual attractions and strong desires to act upon them. Our society has seen fit to place limits upon that behavior. Whether that’s for good or not isn’t up to debate this time around, but it’s definitely evident and well-documented anbd well-accepted.
This is not an irrationality. The irrationality is that we try to deny/curb it by creating institutions such as marriage and monogamy in the first place.
I don’t care so much about the site, I think the troll worthiness of the site getting hacked is pretty funny. The Josh Dugger getting got was so fucking hilarious.
And I don’t see how sex fits into the same category as gender, height and bone structure. I think some people need to really reflect on this or look at it from a third person perspective. If you cannot suppress your desire for sex (assuming it’s there at all), then I think mental counselling is in order because there’s a mental imbalance occurring.
But that is my viewpoint. I think we need to step back and ask ourselves these questions instead of just resorting to the simple “it’s our nature” and leaving it at that.

What do you believe exactly? You mentioned big bang and evolution before…you believe that a creator set these events in motion? If so, it is not an irrational belief…as long as you acknowledge that we don’t know anything about this creator. The moment you start mentioning the christian god, jesus, allah or anything else for these events, then the argument falls flat.

If a person values sex more than both of those things i’ve mentioned then that person is completely screwed up in the head.
