My sister plays Gief and I did Scramble to RazorEdge and I THINK it hit Gief during his Lariat(Kicks)

Against Guile, Mp scramble into lp break works wonders to bait out the flash kick. Once Guile lands, hit him with the slide to start okizeme. Also, EX slide to punish fireballs works ok if you time it just right.

You can punish Ryu’s c.HK with s.HP besides max range sweep !

Anyone got any advice for against Ibuki? I haven’t got a clue how to intterupt her momentum :V

guile is probably my worst matchup right now.

Also ive read that bison is supposed to be free but im going 50/50 against him. What am i missing? I know scramble break takes away his crusher but theres got to be more.

This is still early days at the moment but the problem matches I’ve noticed so far are Dive Kickers such as Yun and Yang (Hasn’t got any options to beat dive kick, stinger isn’t gr8 unless timed perfectly and is high risk).

I’m suspecting that high damage characters are going to be a big problem for decapre but I suspect this is going to be the case for all characters in Ultra. Any damaging characters are problems for me due to the lack of health and high damage output such as Oni and E.Ryu. Fuerte may also be a consideration given how much damage RSF loops are doing along with red focus

5-5 Matchups are looking like Ryu, Cammy and maybe Balrog. (Footsy based, No major advantage over the other player)

6-4 matchups are looking like Guile, Juri, Sagat and Dhalsim. (Fairly difficult to zone her out, Lack of escape options for Ultra 1 or low distance jump arcs to avoid them).

I’m not quite sure on the rest yet as I don’t play against enough varied characters.

Anyone wanna correct me on these so far?

I think she beats ryu, he can’t contend with her in footsies at all, and can’t zone her.

I think she beats yun.

Guile is tougher because he can actually keep up in footsies.

also vs. crouching blanka, cr.mk xx lp hands can uncombo just a headsup.

If you’re fighting an Ibuki a funny gimmick which won’t be viable for long is if you are using Ultra 1 you can bate them to eat it by throwing it out there on a soft knockdown. They usually wake up with a ex neckbreaker to get under it and tag you but they jump right back into the Ultra afterwards.

Toughest matchup for me so far is Juri.

Her low forward beats all of Decapre’s uppers if meaty, her jump arc has several angles where U2 can’t hit it, she can escape U1 easily, Juri usually wins the air-to-airs that Decapre has to resort to when she doesn’t have charge, and if she gets life lead then the Juri player really should win.

About the only good thing about the matchup is Decapre can spend a bar to escape Juri’s amazing corner pressure.

the other meaty that can do this is cr.hk from elena. Probably cr.mk from chun/guy, cr.lk from yun, sim/rose lk slide… lot to test

Just found some great shit. Decapre can U2 E. Honda’s headbutts. So the threat of that really shuts down Honda’s easy headbutt pressure.

yes u2 anti-ground is 7f start up, pretty much any hosenka punish (chun u1) is a DCM punish too YAY

Just pointing out some stuff that may or may not help us in some footsie-based matchups (I don’t think it’s been said in other threads). Basically, you whiff a normal (I tested with cr.mp since it’s the easiest one) just outside the range of the opponent’s best poke, and buffer lp hands behind it, so that it comes out AFTER the cr.mp animation finished (it’s not a cancel).

If nothing came out, the opponent blocks hands and you’re safe, but if the opponent sticks out a normal, then you should, at least in theory, be able to whiff punish it. Same with forward and backdashes. You can buffer hands behind basically anything, you don’t have to necessarily cancel it from a cr.mk. Just do it “naked”, it has more range even if at the cost of less damage.

ok so from my experience so far (be aware i’m just going to generalise and a year from now i’ll probably be wrong about some of these):

she beats ryu/ken
she beats guile (but only just)
gouken is a problem imo

^ this is a pretty good stragey, shouldn’t abuse it too much use it as one of many frame traps.

Lately I’ve been getting blown up by all the charge characters EXCEPT Bison. It just seems like I get interrupted out of everything. I guess I just have get back to basics and work on my footsies with her. Also all the grappler matchups are ridiculous. You pretty much have to be perfect the entire match to stay alive.

I am going nuts trying to fight Elena. Her limbs are stupid, trying anti-air her is quite often a joke and her hurtbox is odd as hell.

Seriously though she is driving me nuts. I feel like she out pokes me easily and the fact that she has overheads from what feels like two thirds of the screen away is frustrating at best.

Any adivce would be appreciated.

Thoughs ont the Rufus matchup, and divekick characters in general?

I try to just space them out. If they can hit you with normals then you are probably too close, Rufus’ cr.hp excluded.
