Well, I’m registered.
I’m curious as to how this is going to work. The top 8 finishers at the regionals get byes to the semis. That’s 32 players. The rules state that the top 4 finishers in each pool also qualify for the semis. If I’m not mistaken, there were 8 pools for each game at last year’s Evo, and I figure they’ll do the same year, since any other realistic number of pools would produce lopsided brackets. That gives us 32 more players for a total of 64. The problem arises when we have players who qualify multiple times. How are they going to fill the extra slots? I can’t think of a practical and fair way to pick players who haven’t already qualified to fill them, and leaving them empty is just as bad. I’m sure the Cannons and co. have already prepared for this contingency and have a plan in place. I’d just like to know what it is.
I was told, i forget by whom, that the semifinal bracket was 48 people. is this also incorrect?

if you only enter VF5, you do not need to pay. if you enter other games, you must pay the cover charge and entry fees.

Quick question, been some confusion on our part back here. Say I registered for the tournament and 3 games, and I later wish to add a game. Would I really have to pay the tournament fee again just to register that said game? Or could I wait till live registration at the event to register the added game?
Now that all the qualifiers have finished. Would it be possible to see the Semi Brackets as they are. Be interesting to see who’s up against who, and create even more hype.
I would imagine that you email the administrators of the event, express your wish to add a game, and they will either take an additional 10 from you via paypal or advise that you pay it during emergency reg at the event.

Wiz, according to the schedule, Guilty Gear pools/semis are friday 12-3, but in the blurb about GG team captains above the schedule it says:
"Guilty Gear XX Team Captains
Your team captain must report to the registration table on Friday night or Saturday morning to tell us your team name and the names of his two team members. "
Did you mean thursday night and friday morning? Answer seems obvious, but some clarification would be nice just to be extra sure. I don’t wanna get DQ’d for something as dumb as missing registration.
