**The idea just caught to me right when I read what Kane said. If this was the case about playing only S and A tier games ,why not have the people who want to play the lesser games in an alternative source? What I mean is instead of playing it in console, why not let people play or have tournies in someone’s laptop? In this case, mines.
I recently updated my collection of games for both Capcom and Neo Geo to make sure that if people wanted to play the classics and then some, they’ll be more than happy to do so. Given that said, not only will I lend my universal PS2 in the mix of the tourneys scheduled to play, but I was thinking also my laptop so we can have the brackets done in a quicker fashion in case some people forget to bring ps2’s in the long run.

**FFS may not be just as popular, it’s still an incredible game in its own right considering the fact that it’s been favored by many way before KOF 2k2 came out.
If it runs well with a good number of players, you’ll know why. Sure, I’d agree to replace FFS for 2k2 as well. HOWEVER, WHP has been touched and will be touched for a while ever since I’ve been seeing a large rebirth of love for the game since NEC 9 (and maybe before that, heck who knows?). Neowave is a different story. **
**Ever since I saw the Beat Tribe tournament in Japan for WHP about several years ago, and also saw German players online playing Breakers Revenge AND ROTD, I realize that many people, even Europeans play SNK games as much as we do, if not a little less due to availability of the game and/or arcades around their areas. France also has a HUGE interest in SNK games out of the sheer fact that they create not only their own Capcom tournaments, but also SNK games in a good number of games.
Sure, they may not be as good as either us or Japan, they still prove that they play those games, regardless of their location.
What’s interesting is there were many people back in last year’s NEC who actually played Breakers/BR and people adored the game nonetheless. Not only was it successful, DG has it in his YouTube account with the matches as well as every other casual/tourney match as proof. Yes, it worked- and it’ll work again this EVO

You make excellent points plus as Josh has said before…I can’t make everyone happy so I aint gonna try plus the fact is I am limited on a tight budget with a tight schedule with a small amount of time. Anyone feel free to run other tournaments if you see fit.
As I said with 2k2, the issue is the port, we have to have a NeoGeo to run it and right now thats not an issue I want to deal with…esp with converters…so I am just sticking to something that has a 90% accurate port…plus I am trying new games out on the US National stage…
for next year there will be two US Nationals…The East Coast SNK National at Final Round and the West Coast at EVO World…
We can certainly have that rematch at NEC9…I got another backup in WHP if Jack doesnt do the job…

I think someone should run a Soul Calibur 4 tournament, while we’re at it… why not AH and Melty too, so all the TVs get used up for non tournament run games.
We can do it…I already got people set aside to take care of some of them…as long as we have two games at once…we can shoot for it…

It has A LOT of glitchy issues like infinites and other things that need to be addressed…plus in addition to this tghe port on the PS2 has bad slowdown which makes it unplayable…
Last Blade 1 has less issues ironically than 2…thus I’m hoping they make LB3 and address the issues with LB2…
Rojo, that’s one of the main draws of Evo for some people: The chance to play the games they love competitively, even if they don’t get on the big screen. Also, Melty Blood uses PCs, not TVs, as do many of the other doujin games that will likely be run. So don’t worry, the main games will still get plenty of action just as they did last year!
The DC and PS2 versions both suck balls, not many people even play it online these days, and you would have to come up with some sort of ban list everyone agrees on.
Personally, I prefer games that don’t require bans in the first place…
Also, DG, I would recommend axing Fatal Fury Special and Neowave; if you really care about the latter, do a money match with Mago or something since you’re about the only people who’ve ever taken it seriously.
Honestly, you’re more likely to get quality competition with Real Bout Special than those two games.
