IMO, we shouldnāt run Breakers. AFAIK there are no truly lag-free Xbox converters.
Also, SS5 Special may warrant a spot, certainly over something like Neowave if weāre already going to run two other KOFs.

Sorry to disagree here, but you canāt say that youāre running S and A class SNK games only, and drop games like LB2 over Breakers, when the former is superior both in gameplay and in number of players over the latter. Also, I just canāt understand why arenāt you running a 2k2 tournament; even considering that I strongly dislike the game, I must accept that itās the most widely played KoF. I would replace FFS for 2k2, as SST is a must (there should be one SS in the weekend, and the latest entry sounds like the obvious choice to me), and even if I donāt agree with WHP and NeoWave, you just wonāt touch them. Being the first REAL chance to show the american fighting community that SNK does NOT SUCK, you should just lead with the best that you have to offer, instead of showing just niche, not serious games that have just recently gained a community in there, but NO one else outside there plays, like WHP and Breakers Revenge. In fact, I think that using Breakers is like if I wanted to introduce people to fighting games in general by showing them War Gods or Rise of the Robots. It just wonāt work.
Since I probably am not going, but may still have a hand in running the thing, I say that we allow the characters, however EX Kyo and Kyo canāt be on the same team, and/or ban EX Kyo.

There are a multitude of problems with Last Blade. Nobody can even agree on whatās banned and what isnāt - the game is full of broken crap and different regions have different ban lists. I go back to Sirlin on this one - if the game really requires that much tinkering, āthe only winning move is not to playā.
And there is no good console port. PS2 sucks and DC is even worse.
The console issue also applies to some other Neo stuff (most notably KOF98/2k2, and Breakers), but those games all draw more people than Last Blade. And they donāt require you to ban anything except bosses.
Please tell me youāre not the type to say we should play whatever Japan does. They know their shit, but they donāt have a monopoly on this knowledge. A game can slip through the cracks there for the wrong reasons.
And Dark Geese, you asked what we would use to run SSVSP. Well, the Samsho Collection should be out by then, right? The US version will include Special and Tenka.

Last time at EVO I had no idea there were tournaments for SNK games. I think I saw like 3 people croweded around an MVS/AES set up but did not know what the hell was going on.
Probably my fault for not paying attention, but somone yelling at people to alert them that sign ups have begun would be awesome. Not saying that this did not happen, but I sure as hell did not notice.
This hurt my feelings soooooo much D=
