EVO West vs. East 5v5. Who should get drafted?

only prob is that combofiend can be somewhat inconsistent… though i still think hes the 2nd best in america right now.

Why wouldn’t Josh Wong be East Coast?

I would love to see Marn on the team but after NCR, I’d hate to see him on the team. His Mag/Zero/Sent team seemed better than what he’s recently been running.

Kinda agreeing with not seeing Floe on the team. You might as well put Ricky Ortiz on. I just wanna see some variety, not another Wolvie/She-Hulk/Akuma.

I don’t really care who the East picks, though I kinda wish the teams were a tad larger since there are so many nice players on both sides. I’d like to see X-Ray and Richard Nguyen on the west.

From the west though, I’d like to see:

Justin
Combo
Viscant
F.Champ or Clock
X-Ray or Richard

This is about who are the best players to represent their respective coasts not what you personally think would make for an interesting match to watch. Floe should be considered simply because he has made it clear that he’s a top player in this game no matter how similar his team is to Justin’s.

I think the sure players for team west coast is Justin, Floe, Combofiend, and Viscant after that its whatever.

For me, on the east coast team I’d like to see (assuming each captain picks 4 players):

• Chris G.
• RyRy
• Masta CJ
• Marlin Pie

and on Justin’s team, I hope he picks:

• Combofiend
• Viscant (especially because he does strangely well in Phoenix mirrors, assuming RyRy plays a Phoenix team)
• Clockwork
• Marn (or maybe F. Champ if he uses his non-phoenix team)

(nothing against Floe, but he plays the same exact team Justin plays, so I’m not sure how much it would add in a 5v5, from a spectator’s point of view)

West coast is all phoenix teams. That’s BS. I say East vs West limit 1 phoenix team. I mean it’s supposed to be an exhibition match so let’s make it exciting.

There shouldn’t be a “draft”. Drafts usually end up in popularity contests or by sheer amount of attention certain players get because they travel and you’re constantly seeing their names everywhere. Now I’m not taking anything away from any of the players mentioned by every so far. They’re all great players and deserving, especially since they have the track records of placing well at events, but I think there should be a Qualifier.

I promise you there are really good players who might not get the same exposure that say, Marn gets, but might be better than him. Also, I don’t know about most of you – but I’d like the chance to represent for my coast especially if I have the chance to earn a spot on the roster beforehand.

Or, after the Captains have selected their roster’s, I think people should have the right to challenge each member of each team (save for the captains) for their spot up till x amount of time before the contest begins. Say a Ft5 or something along those lines. I don’t know how they’d do it, but I know I’d want to a chance to atleast “compete” for a spot, and not be considered because I don’t have the “media exposure” that another player has.

I don’t disagree with you. The qualifications are as obvious to me as the outcome of a 1 vs 1 with Wesker and Haggar. My post like most of everyone else’s here will still stand for who I’d like to see on the team. I don’t think Floe would be a bad pick, but I’m allowed to say he won’t be an entertaining one. It’s just an exhibition match.

I’m not well enough versed in all players to make an accurate assumption, but from the knowledge available I would have to say. The removal of EMP seems like it greatly detriments the east as players like Jago, Yipes, remix, etc are rather good.

I agree with this team. I say if you aren’t from wescoast or even cali at that ( let’s be real cali is westcoast ) you shouldn’t have a say in this, you guys keep saying marn,clockwork and combofiend ( no disrespect to there skill ) but they aren’t as good as these 5 mentioned above, the only person I could see on that list over the, is floe tbh… let’s keep it real…

This right here, I say though they can only be challanged at a tourney because who wants 40+ guys blowing up there facebook/cellphone/door…
