I didn’t think Masta CJ or MarlinPie could attend? Also I thought Jago had retired already. Timothy hasn’t played in a while, though he was definitely one of my favorites to watch when he did.
I watch the East Coast streams weekly and am familiar with all these names, but the problem with a lot of the players on this list is that they haven’t made waves at big regional or national events yet.
Also, is PR Rog East Coast? He’s got a definite spot in that case IMO

No ClarkeyD? He did beat Combofiend fair and square in Revelations, I think he’s probably one of the most underrated MvC3 players at the moment. We should limit Phoenix players to 2 anyway, if Combofiend and Wong are the last 2 to play we certainly will not want to see 3 Phoenix players in a row for the West Coast side.

Things aren’t looking very good for the East Coast side anyway, they would have benefited greatly from having Jago, Masta CJ and Marlinpie to choose from.

I’m not well enough versed in all players to make an accurate assumption, but from the knowledge available I would have to say. The removal of EMP seems like it greatly detriments the east as players like Jago, Yipes, remix, etc are rather good.

I feel like people ITT are making assumptions on the EMP thing. I haven’t heard about this at all and no one is posting proof to confirm it.
last night on Wednesday Night Fights, James Chen pointed out that Nerd Josh has already moved to the west coast, so it doesn’t even make sense anymore that he’s East captain. what is the deal with that, is he permanently living in CA now?
also, how far east can the east team make selections from? maybe they could pick up Tokido…

Where’d you hear that he moved to CA? I thought he was just staying there until Evo.
Also, East Coast is gonna lose. If they win, it’ll be a great upset but as it stands the West Coast just has much better players to choose from.

Unfortunately, west coast looks pretty stacked. I thought at first that I read that the captains were picking their FIVE players, meaning the captains weren’t competing, which would have taken justin out of the equation. If not though, I feel like chris G. is probably the only hope for east coast, cause I believe he’s the only east coast player who’s come close to beating him. Nerdjosh has shown that anti-phoenix tech on his team on the last few WNF streams and has been doing pretty well for himself, so maybe he can handle fchamp. Marlinpie’s issue is just getting momentum going (read: being able to block).
If west coast doesn’t put combofiend I’ll be a bit surprised, he’s probably the only other person I would put on justins level in america. Him, justin, and chris G are all on another level right now.
Why wouldn’t Josh Wong be East Coast?
I would love to see Marn on the team but after NCR, I’d hate to see him on the team. His Mag/Zero/Sent team seemed better than what he’s recently been running.
Kinda agreeing with not seeing Floe on the team. You might as well put Ricky Ortiz on. I just wanna see some variety, not another Wolvie/She-Hulk/Akuma.
I don’t really care who the East picks, though I kinda wish the teams were a tad larger since there are so many nice players on both sides. I’d like to see X-Ray and Richard Nguyen on the west.
