Damn, you must be hella fucking good to be able to say all that garbage and keep a straight face.
And as far as I know, Wildcard was the only team put together the day of. Everyone else was already picked at least a week before Evo started. So I don’t see how people from the teams who got elim’d from their pools wanted to “run it back.”
Yoooo guys, you can’t hate me for my real talk…I mean come on. Fly my out to Southeast, Southwest, Middle east, whatever bro. I’d qualify with multiple characters and I’d just be that nigga with 2-3 characters on the same team.
I just couldn’t get hype because of how free it looked.
Ok, the teams were picked before…I should have said something there. I should have known that there won’t be a spot for a lot of good players, if they hold qualifiers in little ass towns where no EC player can reach them. Good shit to whoever made that idea.
Off the top of my head, Dr. Chaos/SkyeT definitely deserved a spot on wild card.
It didn’t help that people were getting scraped so hard…that not only did I not know of them, but I couldn’t find out because either no one knew them, or they were getting thrown off stage so fast.
But like I said though…yall can’t hate on my real talk…deep down, we all know that I’m just droppin some truth in so we don’t make the same mistake next evo.
It might be real talk, and I understand what you are trying to get across. But to say that the players that were on the team weren’t deserving of that spot is dumb.
The only team I sort of question of Midwest. I read somewhere on the forums that Perfect Sin was plastered the whole time and basically not giving a shit about the event. Is there any truth to this? If so, that’s some fucked up shit to do to his team and to the thousands that tuned in to watch both digitally and physically.
EDIT: I meant Midwest, not Southeast. Many apologies >_<.
Could the teams have been better picked to represent their respective regions?
Yes.
Was the selection of respective members political?
Probably.
Am I disappointed that I didn’t get to “semi-streak” the crowd a 2nd time should SoCal take another win?
Yep.
Was I content enough to just get hype for my region?
You betcha!
p.s. East Coast still sucks :clown:
p.p.s The entire Southwest (or whoever took the entire front row) couldn’t match the hype of one SoCal’er. Step your game up ~<3
its finally good to say that you woudl have to prove that on paper :woot:
assuming that 15 ppl came from nyc comapered to 40 ppl form socal i think thats a better ratio in the top 8
It was midwest team, and yes he was plastered. Anyone remember, he was first up for the first match against Gootecks, they had to call his name like 5 times? He was staring at the goddamn floor, he was so wasted. Fuck him.
im pretty sure the point of a “wild card” in anything is to bring a surprise to the table
saying a player deserved a spot on a team is basically telling the other players who to look out for and if thats the case then that deserving player should have done better and qualified for there respective team by stepping their game up…the players they picked on that wild card team with the characters they had rly defined what a wild card team is
they brought the surprise, they eliminated one of the strongest teams in the exhibition, in stunning fashion i might add lol, and they made it to the finals to face the EC
Overall, everyone probably expected to see Socal vs EC but shit happens in an exhibition and the winning team is the one that put in the most effort in the game nuff said
magman, you can assume all you want that such and such is better. but its all pure speculation. wildcard was designed to have good players + have interestingly different matchups. you can “real talk” this and “real talk” that all you want. but you dont know this scene as well as you think. if wildcard was ONLY designed to find the other best players, there could be like 100 players worthy of that spot. you can think all you want that so and so deserved the spot, but you dont know that. just like we dont know that. I think the cannons did a pretty damn good job considering we made it to finals. its just the ec team was really strong. and props to them
show some respect to others. if wild card was able to take out socal, which was a very respectable team, i highly doubt it was full of shit players.
i love how people talk shit when they arent in a position to talk shit. all the teams respected eachother. yet we get hate from a sideliner? get real dude. besides, its a fucking exhibition. get over it. all the teams enjoyed it, the crowd enjoyed it. sorry you feel bitter about it. but whatever.
Sabre, you did fantastic, I was really hype watching your matches. Every match (with the obvious exception of the very first) in the 5v5 was entertaining to various degrees. I will admit, I really have my doubts about how ‘random’ the 5v5 seed was. I guess it’s not that important.
ross you traitor :crybaby:
Those fucking bee’s are no joke that’s some “Real Talk”
weeks: the 5on5 is random. theres no doubt about it. 1 game only. and we all had to decide team orders before we even knew what the tourney format was for player rotation. so a few players got jewed and had to play bad matchups. magus vs renofresh comes to mind (viper vs honda). but its the 1 game thing that can make things random. its nothing to take serious. its just a fun exhibition, and i think people should leave it as that. people read into these exhibitions too much. not taking away from EC victory, cuz they came correct and straight beasted
i just wanted to say i enjoyed dagger g and sabre’s performance. good job to EC though, they made it look really easy…
i have seen the sakura reset mixups and the cammy stuff, but never a guile like dagger g’s. good shit from everyone!
It’s NorCal yo. And why you gotta put us down like that. ): That cut me real deep. :crybaby:
kliquey. i highly doubt you seen the corner mixups. that was brand new. most saks(what very little there are) just do a normal early to mid j.fierce or rh and hope they can walk under(which doesnt always work). i got specific timing(different on most characters) to where it crosses up in the air, then again when i land(but i can shoose which side i wanna be on. i saved it for evo. and i doubt you seen the short hk crossup on wakeup that requires specific setups… just saying =)
midscreen stuff tho, yeah thats nothing new at all.
Kliquey: 09 deez nuts, son. - Fiveways
lol… umm wasn’t it Valle’s decision that Ross not be on the SoCal team?
What Weeks was talking about was the team seeding, not individual matchups. In 3 out of the 4 first round matches, there was a clear favorite (socal, norcal, ec). The bracket was designed to favor certain teams getting to the finals. Didn’t happen that way, though.
Love hurts
Valle didn’t put Mike on Team Cannon Bros. If he did…:chainsaw:
