Also I want to call out BBH. Stellar performance, 9th place at his first Evo. Beat Mike Watson’s ryu!

And awesome job to Cole, BBH, and Axel for taking us to THIRD PLACE in 3v3 HDR regionals. There were some really buff teams out there and I was proud to be on a team with you guys.

Thanks but you were the one running through teams in the 3v3, I only played like two or three matches total I think I was very fortunate against Mike Watson in the regular tournament though.

Shoulda put BBH on that 5on5 team.

As was said before, it wouldn’t have made a difference in the end because east coast was just too strong. Still though, I would have liked to have had the chance to represent the NW and was disappointed that the challenge thing never happened. Oh well…

Good shiet BBH. We haven’t met yet and I didn’t know who you were until you were playing Trace. If I woulda known you, I woulda kicked it with you in our Pool (1). Didn’t know you were in the pool till I looked up who qualified out from 1.

Haha I had no idea either, I thought the only other person from NW in pool 1 was Paullee! Oops

So yeah, my first EVO experience was a good one (minus the getting sick afterwards), and I was fairly pleased with how I did. 9th in HDR, 17th in SF4. In HDR I beat Viscant’s Vega on the big screen / live stream, later I beat Mike Watson, and then lost to Alex Valle (although I later found out that the commentators had gotten us mixed up and thought I had beaten Alex, haha… I wish). In SF4 after getting out of my pool I had to play Sabin second game and barely lost, winning that would have been sweet Then in losers I had a few close matches, including barely beating Ricky Tan (sp?), that beastly Chun player from Hong Kong that was giving Daigo a run for his money on the big screen. But of course I lost to Trace Mofuckin’ Prewitt in another close match that I wanted to win, but he wanted it more. C’est la vie.

It was a fantastic experience and I can’t wait for next year.

Also Mechanica was fucking hilarious when David Sirlin was playing during STHD finals.

“No no no, they changed that, you can’t combo after chicken wing any more!”

Same here! I knew that when we were ‘gonna have the challenges at evo’ that we weren’t gonna get through many (if any) of them, though. T’was a shame.

Man, grimy ass Vegas. Everybody got sick. I’m just now losing the cough/wheeze I’ve had after recovering from bronchitis I got down there.
