That finish was hella hardbody.
“What? Who does that?! PABLOOOO THE MEX!!! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”
Justin Wong is a fucking douchebag. Why would you taunt?
Exactly like you said, he’s a douchebag but at least he knows it. Just look at any picture of him. Him and like TRIFOCE GAMAH are the only people involved in the scene that I see a picture of and just want to punch my monitor just looking at it. Nigga, take the fucking power glove off. That stopped being funny like 8 years ago.
DAMMIT, SANDFERD!
For all who were in Jacob’s room during the “$600” empire money match…
“Do you accept the terms, look at the camera. DO you accept the terms, look at the camera. This is Haunts, look at the camera, vs Sagat, look at the camera.”
I’m sure he wanted to make it as legal as possible. It was still pretty interesting!
Thanks once again to Zach for getting us all setup with rooms. I’m sure some people probably wouldn’t have made it or gotten a room in time, and I know we wouldn’t all have had rooms just an elevator away from each other to make meeting up and kicking it so easy. The biggest part of my EVO was kicking it with everyone, so thanks again Zach.
Thanks to Nate for possibly singlehandedly saving Seattle ST. I know that myself, Cole, and Julien and Airthrow were all asleep about a half-hour before pools started and we weren’t waking up anytime soon. I would have completely missed my pool, and I know a lot of people at EVO did. Gracias sir.
Big thanks to Paulee for letting me use you stick for SF4. Cody, Kyle and I used your stick in our SF4 matches, and my tournament experience wouldn’t have been the same without it. Not having to worry about a stick really helped, and I think it contributed a lot to how well I did.
To my roomates, all 6 of them , it was a badass weekend, and it was easier rooming with all of you then it was last year with 4 guys at the Tropicana.
I managed to stay buzzed when I wanted to be, and still wake up feeling good everyday, so it was a pretty badass weekend.
Yes, HUGE thanks to Nate. If you hadn’t called me buddy I would have missed the whole thing. Thanks a TON.
Yea, big ups to Zach for making everything so seamless for everyone and to Pat for letting me use his TE. The stick situation was annoying but luckily we have so many generous players in the NW.
It was also cool to hang out with some of the new people outside of Zach’s. I think almost everyone would agree that Evo brought us all closer together as a scene. One tangible way you can see this is all the “____ is now friends with ____” messages on Facebook haha.
Sabre had something somewhat positive to say about Team NW in his rant after the 5v5.
Now that I’m not really sick anymore and I don’t have to waste time sleeping, I can post something more substantial in this thread.
First off, I should’ve made it out of my pool. I had a bunch of great momentum built up cause I destroyed a few people but the two matches I lost were the two worst matches I played. They were pretty wack matches, just didn’t play well, that’s all there is to it. The team tournament however is what stings when I think about it. It doesn’t sting nearly as much as it did after immediately after we lost, but it still sucks to think about it. EC was able to take it down so that’s cool, but I really wish we could’ve made it a more competitive set. I can’t decide whether to write an article about my impressions/thoughts about the 5v5 or wait until a SeattleVS podcast to talk about it. It really was a crazy experience.
I will say this though, because I’ve seen a few posts from a couple different people who were talking about who should and who shouldn’t have been on the NW team. The EC was better, HANDS DOWN. You can talk about who should’ve been on the team all you want, but I can honestly assure you, and this is being nice, the result would’ve been the same, they were the best. Talk all you want about how the team was assembled, but don’t go as far as to disrespect the people who tried to represent. That’s just bullshit. Especially if you aren’t saying that Trace should’ve been on the team since he was the hottest NW SFIV player at Evo.
Anyway, with that over and done with, Evolution has this effect on people where you can throw the bullshit you had going with someone else out the door, and root for them because you’re from the same area. Evolution has this ability to bring scene members closer together because you’re in a different city together. Kinda like the away team, you versus everyone else. Great to see that kind of camaraderie, especially amongst the newer players. The dopest thing about Evo for me was just runnin into all the people I had met from the past and meeting new people. Now I’m just focused on helping get Seattle on the map for Street Fighter.
And to think, I was gonna take a break after Evo, but definitely not after Evo 2009. Haha fuck all that man.
If U guys want to know how a northwest player did at real games, I got 2nd at CVS2 and 9th(again) at tekken 6 br.
alright
i shoulda been on the team
OCV SON

I see you lookin REAL SALTY over there.
:looney::looney::looney::looney:
Qft, we it doesn’t matter how things went down because as a team we lost, it wasn’t just the 5 that lost either. Jimmy, Jason, Mandel, King, and Dan all represented the NorthWest because they are the best to, and they did it with pride. I just want to say ‘Thank you guys’ for respresenting the old school NW, and all us other noobs to the community the best you guys could. No one should have any regrets because we have to play every match like it’s our last, and I’m just glad/proud to say you guys are the dudes.
May not be VIP, but you know what I mean. <3
I have only one promise I’m going to make to all of you, I said it to Trace in the bathroom when he was washing his hands (I didn’t want people to think it was when he was le pooping).
“I’m going to make sure none of you lose to any other Seth but mine.”
That’s a promise I plan to keep.
Team NW were the only group to have signs!

This is a joke right?
I like CvS2, but why doesn’t tekken have gravity?
Something about juggling punches off of people’s legs just looks wrong.
Off their ass is funnier, maybe that’s why I liked MK2 juggles so much.
