About justin wong, if you saw his face before the match in the stream you could see that he was sweating like a pig and he was pale like he was about to faint, maybe due to lack of sleep or exhaustion or nervousness or all of the above or something else entirely, at least that is how he looked like to me. Those ultras against gamerbee were too random for someone like justin even if he was nervous. I wanted him to lose because i don’t like rufus, i rooted for the underdogs and i am not from the us but to me it looked like something was wrong with him more than cracking under pressure.
Tokido on the other hand i think just lost his concentration for a minute from all the noise and the pressure and that is all it takes to lose if you are playing with akuma, i was very sad to see him eliminated, i think that he should be first or second along with daigo.
Vs Gamerbee, Justin made a ton of bad decisions, and his execution was way off compared to his usual flawless ability. He was clearly really badly shaken up by Vangief out footsie-ing him so badly before. Some of his punishments and ‘psychic’ Ultras were truly baffling.
I dunno, to me it looked like lamerboi was just exhausted with that match up. His Guile did not look the same in that match and i can understand the frustration that goes with having to face two really good Sim’s in a row. One for sure Cen’s Dhalism was much more aggressive.
I hope Gamerbee takes the whole thing, that match against Justin was just awesome, but really all of his matches are very exciting to watch.
The thing that baffled me was when Justin picked Rufus against Vangief in the first place. Normally Justin plays to win, so I was shocked when he did that. I don’t know if he was just feeling himself too much or if he underestimated how awesome and hungry Vance was, but it definitely proved to be his undoing.
Infiltration will beat Shizza. he better spend more time high lvl rush down akuma then adon. Asia Akuma is very different than US akuma.
Tokido may not do well, those rush down akuma are very scarey. Tokido messed up so many combo, I though jp doesn’t miss combo.
I see J Wong missed many combo too. the 3 fame tv lag might be right. because j wong does miss 2 fame links and when i watch tokido’s match on youtube. he can end the combo with c.hk like 99% of the time. he just could do it yesterday. sometimes he had to end his combo with just a srk. that hurt his style alot.
Justin played really unusual last night. Perhaps due to the added pressure from representing Evil Geniuses? He looked alright during his match against Vangief, but polar opposite versus Gamerbee. He just fell apart.
“New and exciting” is the name of the game for this evo.
OMG, I was as hyped as a japanese school girl last night when gamerbee took out Jwong, really wanted to post yesterday after the match but the SRK forums just IMPLODED!
If Daigo gets taken out then I don’t think Caesar’s Palace ballroom can take the huge overload of hype it’ll ensue.
My bet for US this time will go to Vangief, his play looks more solid than Gamerbee’s, even though the latter still has an unbelievable CRISPY adon play and took out so many “top players”. Speaking of which, now they’re both “top players” themselves!
I think everyone is making a bit too much of this Gamerbee/Justin Wong Match. The so called demise of Justin Wong is being greatly exaggerated on these forums.
It was a great and exciting match and Gamerbee did win. However, despite all the mistakes that J.Wong did, Gamerbee had to play at almost 110% to take Justin out.
In other words, this was not the clean sweep that everyone thinks it was. The match went down to the wire and to the last round. Justin more than held his own in the match. He probably underesstimated the match up and Gamerbee made him pay.
Honestly I don’t see Daigo having trouble with anyone in top 8 except maybe Gamerbee or Cen. I’d really like to see him go down but I’m expecting an un-hype top 8.
Agreed. Furthermore, I think everyone in top 8 studied up on Adon last night. Im expecting things to be harder for Gamerbee now unless he’s real good at adapting.
