Some more info on a couple matches from IIPeru (Renzo):
FloE vs IIPeru - Renzo used Dudley and won the first match, then the first round of the second match, then lost it…sent to losers bracket where he beat PR Balrog.
Online Tony vs IIPeru (the rematch) - Renzo picked Fuerte again and won the first match, then the first round of the second match, then lost.
Both matches were very close.
Fun Fact: IIPeru is the top ranking Dudley on XBL.
For the most part it’s the people running the pools that are in charge of sending games up to the stage. I know the pool I was in was a guy short (or at least that’s what he said) and most of the good games didn’t get sent up. He was just too busy to bother with it.
As far as showing you what is going on with every player you care about (which collectively is probably over 100), you cannot do that shit with a 2000+ man bracket. The people commentating don’t even know what’s going on in the pools. If nobody tells them shit, they can’t tell you shit. If the pool organizers are busy, they’re probably not going to tell the commentators shit.
It is almost impossible to have constant communication between the amount of people that are running this tournament. Especially when most of them are FUCKING BUSY. If the pool organizers are having to break through the giant crowd around every pool and run up to the stage every time someone you care about got sent to losers and then again when they got put out they would never get anywhere.

The noise would be too loud to begin with. You can barely hear people standing a foot away without yelling. And that would be over 10 walkie talkies running to two people at a time, interrupting the commentary every 30 seconds with KSSSH INAUDABLE NOISE KSSSSSHHHH.

No hate on the stream, even though the quality is mad jerky, because I know how huge an endeavor like this is to handle. That being said, I think the some sort of ways to keep up with the brackets would be nice. I think there were less than 5 minutes of bracket updates all day today. We’d see somebody win, and then find out later they were out. The format is pretty chaotic, and then the endings are crazy abrupt. All I’m saying is that it would be nice if some information got disseminated so people aren’t spending hours after the stream is over trying to figure out what just happened. That’s just silly.
All I can say, is the Big Marcus VS. Filipino Champ match is probably one of the greatest matches to have NOT been recorded this Evo.
