First and last? Blah me and watson didnt even get to finish the finals at evo. I didnt even get to use ryu. =[Blah if you guys acctualy spent some more time with the game I think youd acctualy see its pretty fun and theres a lot of new stuff. I wrote about the new stuff that they put in the game in that hyper section of srk. It really is a pretty different game. People just thought it would be the same, when they acctualy added a lot of new crap. As for 2 dollar entry fuck that… 5 or something. As for characters rules well… Id say…
no shin akuma, no boss m.bison, no championship edition characters, no turbo button(apperently theres a turbo button in the butter config screen, so umm it would be pretty gay if someone turned that one while they were playing so fuck that). Hrmm I think thats it.
Also id have to find out what all the dip switch settings are. I know for some reason when you turn everything on to put back all the bugs whatever, for some reason I guess it makes it so alpha 3 characters dont build meter, so I guess I have to find out what star that is to turn that one back “on” or something.
Anyway yea besides that everything is fair Id say. Also like I said though, I dont even have a ps2 that can really play the game. So umm id have to borrow one from someone for the tourny. So tournys a ways off from my stand point right now shrug… Oh and for betting well im poor, so 5 dollars could be my lunch and dinnner. Plus no need to worry about it anyway, there will be a tournment!!! clinchs fist ._.
Well to be perfectly honest with you I think a 5 dollar entry will bring less entrants on average imo. Yes there are a few that will be cool with a standard side entry but then there are those who wouldnt. Trust me I know from experience running these side tournaments. People are only willing to pay a standard side or full 10 buck entry on games they are familiar with and although the Alpha series is popular, Hyper Alpha isnt. How do you think I get these full bracket entry’s for side games at majors. ECC I got about 11 players for VS, 17 players for it at NEC last year and 14 for Tournament Fighters. Simple people are more comfortable with the lower entry fee with games that are less or non-mainstream. 2-3 buck entry isnt much but draws in more players and thats what you want right?
Hell even the Web2zone tourny in NY a couple months ago had ST at 2 buck entry and hadnt it been 2 dollars it wouldnt have gotten over half the entrants it got cause ppl are cheap unfortunatley!:sad: and that was Phils idea so Im not the only one. Well thats one of the reasons anyway that doesnt apply to all.
As far as the dipswitches I’d just leave them all off. Nobody knows what even over half of them do so its best to just leave it off. Unless you know something I dont, I havent really messed with the Dips in this game at all.
I understand banning Shin Akuma, CE etc. but whats the deal with Shin Bison? Isnt he the Marvel (Red) ISM version ala Alpha 3. I dont see anything wrong with that charcter at all if your referring to him. I play him in casuals against my friend all the time and hes not crazy at all, as a matter of fact he sucks but whatever.
Im not crazy about bringing or lugging any console equipment to this since yeah it is MID WEST but I may change my mind. Actually since were tryna setup Vampire Savior on console with collections we’ll see. If someone in the area has one they can donate for a day or two then that would be cool. Plus the PS2 I have isnt exactly holding up like it should so ehh.

Well I think hyper alpha would be more popular if there werent so many misconceptions about the game. People just looked at the the more obvious stuff like how alpha 1 has more priorty and supers do damage and assume the game is broken. And that everything goes a1s way. Im sure most people dont even know that alpha 3 characters when they start to roll are invincable from all a1/a2 attacks. And how they can juggle a1/a2 characters infinitely if they try and tech roll, as there onyl invincable to there own(that is a1/a2 to a1/a2). Theres a lot of stuff like that. In general almost all the new stuff they added to the game goes towards the a3 characters. Or how a3 characters can damage buffer moves from a1/a2 that cant be damaged bufferd vs someone of its own kind. Hell vs some moves vs a3 you can make them do only 1 damage. Pretty ridiculous. Again theres a lot of stuff(to much to write)thats new and that was added. But people just look at the obvious thing that a1 has more priorty and do more damage with supers and assume there broken.(hell if you look at normal moves alpha 3 does more damage with normal moves then a1 and waay more damage then a2). So yea I think the game acctualy would be popular but its gotten a bad wrap by people that have only played it for 5 mins.

As for banning characters well… I only say shin m.bison beacuse I thought he was banned in other games(upper etc)and I thought it was general concencus that he was cheaty. His super is to good, and to easy for what it is. Maybe hes not as bad compared to the better a1 characters like akuma,ken, ryu, a charile, and sodom. But still… I guess if people wanted to do a vote maybe…
And as for 5 dollars yea I think it should be… I think 2 dollars is dum, cuz thats like “fake” to me. And I dont think hyper alpha is a “fake” game. If its treated as a BS game then its always gonna be treated as a BS game. People need to stop playing the same old games all the time. Capcom isnt makeing games like they use to. If theres new shit, people should play it. And again I think hyper alpha is new, its not the same old game new gameplay things were added etc etc. Maybe its ghetto, but that doesnt mean its not new. Seriously the only real complaint about it is that cody got screwed over in the game. Basicly hes his own groove. Cody groove. Capcom just decided that no matter what he can be juggled after everything. Thats the only thing wrong with the game.

Is there any info on which games are played on which days? I didn’t see it on the evo site or on the first page of this thread, and didn’t really want to read through it all, but maybe I’m just missing it. The people I’m going with are cheap and don’t want to stay longer than a night. We’re all entering ST, CvS2, and 3s, and were hoping they were all covered within a 2 day period. Doubtfully, but they are all greedy as fuck and we’re carpooling so I won’t have a ride home if I stay longer.
