If they have XvSF, you should enter. You shocked the hell out of me when you beat a bunch of Socal regulars at EVO last year. And Arturo said you just beat him in ft10 in MvC1. Dirty dirty dirty.
Jason Wilson,
I still think someone should get to brush your hair as a prize. Think about it. Good luck with your turney.
Vic: I still think NYC players may be the best at the VS games. They have the top 2 in MVC2, had the top 2 in MVC1, but there were no real “majors” for MVSF and XMEN VS SF…but NYC seemed to own up those games pretty hard…
Anyway, there’s no XSF on the roster, so why is this up for debate? Let’s talk about some games that will be there…like AE, which I’ll be taking with the Green Meanie, the Dick Dic, Mr. CE Bison himself!
Well Dream Theater, since you brought it up, there was a XvSF Team Turney at EVO 2k4.
Combofiend was on Team AZ with me and Geoff and he singlehandedly beat Team EC, which was Nibor, Eddie Lee (who left and was replaced by Ed the Head), and Justin Wong.
Sabre of course beat Combofiend at the AZ turney in like '02 which makes Sabre the best in the universe!!
I don’t want to brush your hair. I want to wash it.
Just FYI guys…because from my understanding the hotel is not a part of Nickel City…I am going to try and run my SNK tournies on Friday and Saturday because it will be kinda difficult trying to get people to come back to the Hotel on Sunday to play SNK games so everyone participating in SNK tournies etc needs to hear about this…
So yes though I know its “ritual” to come late on Friday I am going to do my best to be there as EARLY AS POSSIBLE…
Sunday is Grand Finals…no side tournies allowed.
Is this above correct Jason? This is what I understood based off EVO East…if I am wrong please correct me sir…
I don’t know how many people are registered for any game yet. I won’t know until the week of the tournament, quite possibly the day before the tournament.
The arcade is not open 24 hours each day. It’s open the normal scheduled times. Each tournament will be finished before the arcade closes each day. In the event the tournaments run long, the arcade will stay open.
The schedules for each game have been posted a long time on the first page of this thread. Please take the time to read the first posting THOROUGHLY before you ask questions.
Each tournament will run straight through. There will be no grand finals on Sunday that I know of for each game due to time constraints. We will have standard double elimination tournaments and finish the top 8 at the same time. We are running this the same way we run MWC each year.
Last but not least, we have decided to go with 360 Joysticks ONLY on MVC2, and Ultimate hard Springs for 3s and ST (and any of the arcade tournaments on Friday) I can not stress enough how important it is to PRACTICE on these sticks before the tournament. Each arcade feels slightly different with adjustments. Over the years I have heard complaining about sticks for years at every single tournament I go to. Usually it’s from anyone that did not win the tournament, so again, PLEASE PRACTICE ON THESE BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT TO GET USED TO THEM. If you play console, and your moves don’t come out on the arcade versions, keep in mind arcade/console speed, timing, and properties are DIFFERENT. It’s YOU, not the joystick making these errors. Make the necessary adjustments and play your game.
Also, first page has been updated with person(s) running each tournament.
Quick question. I know that registration is from 10 to 11. If I want to play in tournaments later in the day (3rd Strike at 6pm for example), do I still need to be there between 10 and 11 to register, or can I show up at say 4 or so and register then?
I just want to say this is gonna be my first tournament (I’m gonna get rapped), but I’m looking forward to meeting some people and learning some new shit. Peace out!
