I wonāt be attending west. Thereās only so much money people have to burn on video game tournaments. Hitting up back to back EVO events is a pretty big hit to the wallet coming from another country in van rental/gas/hotel/etcā¦ adding a plane ticket to all of that just isnāt worth the while. Maybe EVO World would be a possiblity as thatās the biggest event of the year.

Why didnāt I catch this the first time around? Is it jap cabinets or US cabinets? What kind of sticks are being used? As anyone from out of town can attest, we play on Japanese Versus cabinets with sanwa gear in Toronto. Could someone please let me know?

Nagata: Itās Ultimate Happ Hard Springs on American cabinets. We are doing away with the 360s this year. Now people can complain about Happ sticks!

They have better corners and donāt break down as much as Comps, and yes, the springs are hard. Think of a stock MAS stick.
Nice, glad to hear that about the corners! I dont mind hard springs really, however i just always find it odd that people like their sticks that stiff (no homo).
Lol man, I hate to be one to complain and what not. I feel you on those who like EN sticks, itās all preference. But that said, this is gona be like playing against two opponents. The stick and whoever Iām playing

Ive had my competition stick for 2 years and it hasnt broken down yetā¦
Humbag: Itās all preference. 360s are pretty crummy IMO (very, very small corners), but people still like them. No one is going to be entirely happy with what we put on the cabinets, and for the past 10 years weāve used Wico/NEw Happ or OLD Happ 360s, and people still complained. Best advice I have for everyone is get to the arcade and get USED to the sticks. Each arcade you go to, no matter where you go will have different sticks. This is one of the oldest preparation tactics in the book.
Speed and timing are different from arcade to console, so if you are a console player realize what games at EVO North/MWC are ON arcade, and realize that you will need to get accustomed to the speed/timing/overall arcade differences, canāt stress this enough.
DreamTR: Do you know when the cabs will be outfitted with the Ultimates? I want to give those a test drive a few days before all the people come in.
