Or rent out a U-Haul for a weekend and drive up the cabs yourself. If you’re not going to help get BR there then don’t complain that there isn’t a BR tournament there in the first place. We play what we can, with whatever sticks the arcade provides. If you won’t help provide the games then you have no room to demand that said games be there in the first place.
I asked Dream for an EX tournament and I brought the boards and the games. The games ran, had a small turnout but I at least brought the boards and the games. Just like this year I’ll try and bring my cab. Maybe run some HDR on it or some casuals in other games. Whatever the case I’m at least offering to provide something for the tournament to run on. But with a tournament with 10 games and some mystery tournament plus random prizes you can’t complain. Nor can you expect a 14 hour tournament to run well. Think about it, starting T6BR at noon would end at least at 2am if not longer. Thats just for one game, what about the other 9-10 games they’re running?

Also that Tekken 6 cab that’ll be at evo north, that was DreamTR’s originally. If it wasn’t for him the newest tekken that they have would be what? 5.0 or maybe 5.1? T6 is at least an upgrade from that.
The only way T6 could possibly be double elim if there was a cap set at say at 16 (or 32?) man bracket. So maybe if there isn’t that many people interested in playing the game, perhaps you could have a prereg for it? Just a thought. Either way I’m entering it.

The main issue was not a lack of BR, but the single elimination tournament. BR wasn’t an issue until Dream mentioned he had a BR machine and just didn’t want to bring it. And even then, my primary concern was single elimination.
I have access to BR and could put in the work to get it to MWC, but after the reaction I got from Dream, there’s no way in hell I’d ever put in that much effort for his benefit, especially when he isn’t even willing to bring his own cabinet to his own tournament. But again, the lack of BR was only a minor issue.
I’ve run double elimination tournaments on a single cabinet with a lot more than 32 people and it took awhile, but it was doable and people enjoyed it. I would have offered to run this tournament if not for Dream’s asinine reactions to my posts. There’s simply no desire for me to travel to Chicago or assist with MWC when my primary reason for going would be a single elimination tournament. Even with T6 Vanilla, double elim would have made it a viable tournament for me.
Sorry. I was considering making the trip, I’ve been to tournaments in IL many times in the past (at Nickel City no less), but I’m not going to skip TiT8 for a single elim T6 Vanilla tournament. I don’t even mind the $20 venue fee since that’s fairly standard for 3D fighters.
1 cabinet with a possible big turnout will take forever to run. Especially in double elimination style. MWC doesn’t have time to run a 14 hour tournament for 1 game. Even 2 cabs that’d make it a 7 hour tournament. Which is still too large. Even if Dream does decide in the end to bring his own BR cab (which won’t happen) there is still a good chance that you won’t show up with the BR cab that you said you were going to bring. So we’re stuck yet again with 1 cab and what might have been a double elimination tournament turned into a single and upset all of the players that decided to go thinking that it was going to be douible elimination. If that makes any sense.
In short be thankful that he’s even given his T6 cab to nickles in the first place.
again only 1 cab. Double Elim with 1 station will take forever, especially since this is a major and could bring 100 tekken players. What then? Are you willing to run a T6 tournament for 14 hours? No food break, no bathroom break, not even a smoke break because you have to be on the floor for 14 hours running this tournament.
At best if T6 gets a low turnout dream might then make it a double elim. But thats not something that we’ll know til the day of the tournament.

Tekken 6 is a SIDE TOURNAMENT. Do you think I hold precedence to people complaining to be about Alpha 2 if I decide to run it single elimination? No. It’s a SIDE TOURNAMENT. It’s not for EVO, I’m already bringing a $4000 board for the arcade itself, but you honestly think I should be BRINGING a $7000 board/machine in a car up to MWC? Wow. Let me just jump on that and pull it out of my arcade because the controller converters for all the other games, boards, and 15 other tournaments are just not enough for me to do. Seriously, how can you honestly think I am OBLIGATED to be bringing my board there…it’s all based on numbers like everyone said. If there are 50 people I’m not running double elimination. It’s not rocket science here, and we’re not making it a big deal that we are even having a huge Tekken 6 tournament because we aren’t, it’s a SIDE TOURNAMENT.
I don’t know “what tournaments” you said you’ve run before, but I do know you have a habit for whining and complaining about things on other fighting game forums and communities in regards to other things, so I don’t know why you think everyone is out “disrespecting” you, but you aren’t contributing anything at hand here. I’ve been doing this tournament for 14 years and I’m not sure what “access” you are trying to establish to you stating you can get a T6BR board here, but I’m not running this tournament or catering to ONE person who obviously wants to complain just to complain now.

This thread is pure comedy…and I can completely understand where DreamTR and SaBre are coming from planning my own major…you are fronting the costs for the cab…

VDO: Single/Double always depends on how many setups we have, nothing else…I know for sure we will only have one Tekken 6 machine there…CVS2 really depends on time…there’s just so many new games now, and the SF community is now geared towards two games: SF4, and SFHD, which are pretty much going to be the “Sf games” of the moment…so I’ve got to toss those in as main events somehow…
