I’m not gonna lie, I was hoping that Daigo and Justin would have another match on 3S. Though, I imagine Justin is probably emotionally scarred when it comes to that game.

When Evo stops happening at the same time as fair week and I can actually get off work for once (long story), THEN I’ll be there in person. 'Til that happens, I’d say it’s a pretty damn good excuse.
I think the Aris/Kayo thing was a stream-monster exclusive moment. Yeah, it wasn’t as awesome as some of the other things that happened, but still.

BTW Ono comes across as a troll online but in person he’s just ridiculously hyperactive and enthusiastic. I think he just really wants to tell people stuff and can’t. plus his English isn’t brilliant so a lot gets lost in translation. He’s a funny guy. During the SFxT panel he was joking around and ripping on Seth and Christian Svensson, etc. -
Poongko throwing his coat and watch away and downing a can of energy drink before his match with the dude who picked Gief (is Gief a counter pick? Poongko seemed angry, and the guy switched characters after the first game).
He then repeated it against Daigo, perhaps pissed off at their last encounter at the Gamestop World Championships. -
Tokido picking and using Akuma’s U2 against Viper (I think…).

Playable SFxT build. Not really an Evo moment. But it seems unprecedented the way Capcom are developing their games these days with so many playable builds and public testing.

Douchebag 3rd Strike fans who consider themselves elite - crying, whinging and whining. Get over yourselves. Who cares if it’s a harder game to learn. At top level every game is difficult because there will always be someone better than you. And btw, people have a right to like 3S regardless of how good they are or if they used to play the game.

Daigo Panel
Seth really made good use of this time with Daigo. Forcing him to talk through his thoughts in a game was incredibly informative and showed me for one the level of precision he applies to every aspect of his game. Especially spacing. If you have not see it you should watch it.
Normally people ask Daigo the same old questions, and Daigo being Daigo gives the same old answers - short, with little elaboration.
Genuinely players are looking to hear more about how Daigo thinks. Seth facilitated (and even forced to some extent) Daigo to explain his thinking.
For me it was really enlightening. When he talks about getting caught by Lamerboi’s Ultra because it was a kara-ultra and that he did not believe Lameboi could do the kara-ultra based on what he’d seen was mind-blowing.
There was a fight that almost happened at EVO. I remembered it happened right in front of me and I was playing against Sanford. I was busy playing, but also a bit distracted at what happened. Apparently it was someone who was rooting for Nerdjosh and another guy rooting for the other player and they started getting physical then the ref came in and called security.
That was me and a few other friends who were rooting along for NerdJosh. I come from the MvC2 era of shit talk, if he didn’t like it, then he can do what Daigo did and get some headphones.

I’ll try and order these in a chronological manner, but forgive me if something slips.
- Aris and KayoPolice !commenting on Stream-2. One of the few times it came up aces being a stream monster.
- Noah. Kid’s eight.
**- DR Rey getting blown up. - Someone in the audience actually bringing an oversized salt shaker board.
- PR Balrog forcing a reset with Tron against Dark Phoenix.
- PS3 throwing a “data corrupted” error during a video.
- Poongko literally opening a can of red bull and making short work of Daigo.
- Latif running the gauntlet of Tokido, Daigo, and Poongko near consecutively. Amazing.
A lot of these probably won’t make that much a difference in the years to come, but for the immediate future they remain quite memorable.
Did you guys see the one with those three guys simultaneously holding signs that said, “Big Fat Phony” ? I remember Yipes was asking what was with them and it was when ppl got exposed.

My buddy spoke to Poongko and his translator early in Grand Finals day. Poongko told him that his toughest matchup throughout the entire tournament was Billy Lee Dragon. He said it made him rethink the entire Seth vs T.Hawk match-up. BOOM :rock::rock::rock:
what about me and Hiro taking a Lobby Sofa and bringing it straight to the front row of MvC3 finals??
