The whole thing? Damn straight beauty this year. I’m glad I didn’t place bets anywhere cause damn nothing went how I expected it too.
What did you expect from American announcers at an American event?
you think japanese commentators root for foreigners at their tournaments?
Notice how the crowd was cheering Fuudo at the end while he held up the trophy? I don’t think America was anti-Japan, they were just pro the home team. That’s to be expected.
Anyway, I"m glad the top two were new to the top 8 at evo in addition to being relatively unhyped players. Mainly because i’m tired of people flocking around certain players like groupies and putting them on silly pedestals
ps: i’m actually more interested in how the crowd seemed to absorb Latif as representing the USA, although he was jointly representing Saudia Arabia as well. I wonder how that will play out, and who Latif felt he was playing for. Perhaps both? Is that possible?
There should be nothing but respect for MK’s top 8 as well. Even with its dumb glitches it proved itself a tournament-worthy game at EVO. Considering it’s their first showing at EVO and had by far the best mix of characters in the top 8 throughout
Except that Latif isn’t a newcomer to evo:coffee:
Yeah I know that. I wasn’t specific enough the first time. read what you quoted.
He still isn’t new to top 8 either but ok.
you know i’m talking about street fighter 4
Spark blocking Lord Knight’s Makoto rushdown while being pushed from one end of the stage to another.
best moment for me was Fuudo with just a sliver of life catching Poongko’s backdash with an ultra…
so happy to see arguably the world’s best VF player, also owning it up in SF… .
Slight correction .He won wgc in cannes a year and a half ago beating Daigo in the grandfinals but didnt come back from losers , Daigo did actualy after losing to Luffy in winners(i didnt enter that one). I eliminated him from the master series tournament the previous day in top 8 .He also won a ft10 money match that week end in a ft10 ryu mirror vs Daigo.
ah, thanks for the correction, that’s a lot to keep track of

heck yeah deathwish, when I saw that, my jaw dropped. Even I was thinking he was trolling, boy was I wrong haha. Too bad he didn’t get to far, that stuff would work in rank online matches for sure but in 2-3 matches ppl wise up in EVO.
LONGER

yeah that was intense, i was glad to see hakumen in there. spark was like an iron curtain man.
Seriously though I hate fucking Ustream I had less problems with JTV. Does anyone know why the use Ustream?
I believe it was so they can stream it on Playstation Home but not 100% sure on it, yea I prefer JTV over ustream as well, but hey at least we got to see the stream with almost no problems except when the hotel internet went down for a bit
Ustream was flawless for me
well i guess it did keep skipping on me when i was using the laptop so i had to watch from my phone.
edit: Sorry don’t want to derail thread…
Another moment was Vangief’s range when he kept doing those EX Hand combos.
