About less than half of the people that registered entered and it was 18 players. None the less its a very interesting tournament. It was Round Robin format and now its narrowed down to the final 8 where there will be a full scale 8 man bracket to determine who wins.

Some people had to bail and so much was going on that people actually forgot which is understandable. Im gonna try and get the finlas recorded. Valle had the most points followed by Watson then me. Heres a list so far of who used what to make it with theyre respective characters.

Auto-block grants the player 9 automatic blocks if they were not blocking an oncoming attack. It is useful against frame-eating Supers, quick overheads, high/low mix-ups, ‘ambiguous’ cross-ups and the Valle CC. The player is only allowed access to a Level 1 Super, though.
I was just talking to some friends about how blue-ism fei-long could be pretty effective with his rekka super cancel. cool to hear jason cole use that character.
Does anyone think this game will be a main event next year? The return of an alpha game to Evo would be cool but some people I’ve talked to don’t think so, I’ve heard it’s more like alpha 1 vs. alpha 2

Well pretty much the finals didnt get to be played out due to peoples unavailability. Nonetheless the stage was set. True Tech was able to capture some matches from the Round Robin and Cole has some of the final 5.

I was wondering why that shit was legal also. Good shit to watson for taking advantage of the AUTO mode. I have a question to all of those people that thought banning CE would allow you to play A3 characters now. If you have a choice between using a character with a gaurd meter or not use a gaurd meter which will you choose? It seems like no one in the top 8 used an A3 ism character. I was talking to my hommie Eric W. and we both agree that CE should be banned, but when you ban CE IMO A1 is the best. I know hsfa needs more tournament play to make judgements, but IMO A1 will end up being the best. I wish I could have seen this tournament.
P.S.: yo J, did anyone money match you with you using CE vs. anyone that claims CE isn’t that bad? :looney:
no, bottom line is, this tournament was more than enough to show how BAD the game is. AE is very playable, with some minor hindrances (ce bison), but all modes are 100% playable and usable in match. not so with hsfa. a3 has ZERO chance in this game because of the major changes that had to happen to them to make them work with other modes(eliminating flipouts which eliminated a lot of the a3 gameplay style). a3 is just horribly nerfed. no reason at all to pick a2g for any reason whatsoever, except MAYBE gief for added spd range over a2 gief. and also why does the game allow you to pick a2 and a2g modes but you cant pick between a3 and a3upper? fucking stupid. so now all a3 selection is based off a3u. so arturo had to use a severely nerfed, slow a-dhalsim. i had to deal withe totally different VC behavior(gravity increasing on a juggled opponent) so some vc’s dont work. plus no crouch cancels. plus a3 gotta deal with guard crush while no other modes have to.
a1 ken, a1 guy, a1 akuma are just the dumbest things ever. watson showed everyone how ridiculously stupid a1 is by dominating everyone with ken and guy, effortlessly.
its extremely safe to say, this game has no tournament future. bad bad bad bad game.

hsfa is really really gay. so many problems with this game, i dont even know where to begin…im really disappointed at hsfa, this game had so much potential. props to watson for taking it though with some easy mode bs lol, he makes the game look hella retarded. youll see in the videos.

I had fun personaly shrug. Im disapointed the tourny didnt finish though… I wanted to play more. I havnt gotten to play anyone to much in the game so yea… Also umm I think its a little early to be giving the game a bad rap already when I dont think a lot of the people even new about the new shit they added shrug.
Also just to add to the auto mode its acctualy 10 blocks, though even after that your character can stick block lows standing and overheads ducking if you manualy block. Also you have 2 button supers. You also can block unblockable moves in the air if you are in block stun. So alpha1 ish anti air hurricane kick(say if its blocked) then say if you tried to super them when you land. auto gaurd can block this.
The disadvantage is well yea like already said you have one super, and the game forces you to stand up in to attacks if your in the area. Thus say I knock you down, I do hurricane kick, you can not duck it. It will eat up those 10 hits or whatever.
Lol come on, i know you want to play it. Theres new shit thus… new game… Or something. I didnt even really use any of the new stuff, im sure you’ll have more fun once you see some of the new stuff. Its not like they only toned down certain characters a lot of characters got new stuff… shrug… Oh well.
