A rule is enforced at my gaming club.
To be honest, it’s more of a “grooming policy”.

This is a silly idea, because there’s no drug that makes you Japanese, and if there was, it should be encouraged for non-Japanese people to take it in order to help level the playing field.

So let me see if I understand this correctly: The general consensus of all the haters in this thread is that it would be perfectly ok if someone was using drugs to enhance their performance?
I understand that’s it pretty much impractical and not worth the effort to seriously implement drug testing, but everyone ripping on the thread creator like this is something that absolutely would never happen or would be ok if it did happen is pretty fucking ignorant.
If ANYTHING, maybe it would be satisfactory to test only the winners. Or only test if there is reason to suspect. I mean, what if seriously this year at EVO we do see someone acting suspiciously on performance enhancing drugs? Even if the probability is incredibly unlikely, there should at least be some kind of plan or policy in place just in case. Better to have a rule and not need it than not have the rule and end up running into a problem that you have to try to come up with a solution to in addition to all the usual stress and chaos during running EVO.
And it’s not like the plan has to be all complicated. It would just be a foot note that includes what substances are banned, what the testing procedure would be (test only winners? etc), and what the punishment would be. (well obviously disqualification and possible ejection from the EVO site)
It wouldn’t hurt to have a rule in place. If there’s a rule in place and no one ends up using, have we really done any damage? But if someone does end up using and we DON’T have a plan in place, oh yes the damage could very well be massive.
