“i always get top 8 or better in every american tourney i enter no matter what.”
Every American tourney like EVO? Yeah… Or is that when you’re not drunk, and it’s not console 3S? And Japan doesn’t have top players in Dan at all times, at least nothing below 10. I’m pretty sure it’s easy for a Chun player to get near the top.
yeah lol. when im not drunk/hungover and not on console. you got it.
lol, its not easy. in every dan there are players 10x better than average american players.
the first time i made it to 10th, it was in the early stages of danisen where everyone was in 9,10,11,12 stages. but what do you know? youre going on your assumptions, im going on facts.
when i finally got out of 9th, i had to beat dan dudley and ysb hugo twice back to back.
yes anything else you wanna test my credibility on? lol.
A lot of really good Japanese players are stuck in 10th Dan, though. It’s not because they suck, but rather managing to reach at least Tsuwamono is just that hard. The fact that TM is Mousa just blows my fucking mind. I hate to sound cliche’d here, but you really don’t know what you’re up against until you experience it firsthand. Fukuoka alone has really good players outside of established top players like Deshiken, Goemon, Suzu and Ushi. The fact that Tokyo is better than here is insane to me.
He never blamed console, he blamed console tournaments.
Console tournaments have always been run terribly, not only because it’s a lesser version of 3s, but because the tournament organizers of console tourneys like evo usually don’t give a fuck about their 3s tourneys. Ridiculous scheduling, last minute changes to the rules (double elim to single elim to save time), stacked, unabalanced pools, etc.
It’s not that the Japanese players play console fine, they (players like K.O, Daigo, Nitto, Tokido, Issei, etc.) are just playing in the tournaments for the money, and they can pretty much guarantee themselves a lot of money as long as they focus, because they already are the best players in the game who can beat anyone in the U.S. whether it’s console or arcade. Plus they’re already spending a lot of money, time and effort to travel to a different country to compete, so they’re looking to make their money back.
True American 3s fans don’t play 3s tourneys for money, they play it for the love of the game. Arcade 3s is the best form of the game, so arcade tourneys have always been the, best, most accurate way to measure the US’s best players. That’s why the best American players don’t play in console tournaments or take them seriously. Accusing players of not doing well at EVO holds no validity; 3s EVO tourneys have always been terrible. Look at all the top results of SBO, Gamer’s Vision/Mikado/Game Inn Sakura tourneys, Danisen Battles, Denjin/FFA Ranbats and tourneys, and you’ll find the most accurate lists of who’s the best.
joe, whos the best player youve played?
where do you play?
how long have you played?
what tournaments have you gone to? how did you do??
I rest my case.
I have nothing against beginner players like yourself. everyone was a beginner at one time. you just have to know your place and not act like a know it all when you dont know shit.
I played against Suzu and Tetsugoshi in casuals before SBO Quals in Hakata '08. Suzu raped the shit out of me, Tetsugoshi beat Suzu clean, then he beat me down in a Q mirror. Completely different level…
…as for Goemon, I’m not sure. I don’t go to Monkey House so I can’t say for sure. I know he played whenever there was a tourn at Tenjin Gigo while it was still open.
Damn you didn’t get the memo?
Everything except for evo is casuals. Lol
Dude Joe just admit you don’t know anything and leave this thread like your boy ieatkittens did.
Anyone with a brain knows what I meant about casuals vs tournaments.
If you play with someone over and over into 50-100 matches. This is the best way to measure skill.
Musta taken it to heart eh? You act like you have nothing to prove yet some ‘nobody’ made you feel obligated to brag. I’d hate to see what would happen if a pro dissed you you would probably die of a heart attack.
It doesn’t have to be a tournament. Anyone with even the smallest amount of brainpower would realize it’s difficult to get to 10th dan and so therefore it’s a good measure of skill considering the competition. Hence you suck, I win. Gtfo.
no. i dont take anything to heart. especially when it comes from people like you or joecondor.
like i said at least 2 times i dont like bragging about tourney results. i just wanted to shut him up so he would leave this thread so we can continue with legitimate discussion. something trolls dont understand.
I dont play this game for the american tournaments. I play because i love 3rd strike.
lol at a "pro dissing me"
this is just getting ridiculous.
