Locally speaking, the dude is a 9.5. Nationally I’d say a 6-7, which is still better than a lot of players. He can go toe-to-toe with Suzu, and Rikimaru even pointed him out in terms of best Qs in the country, so that has to say something.

ggpo is different but if players who play on arcade 75% of the time can adapt to ggpo then ggpo players can adapt to arcade. If your fundamentals are good you can make shit happen whether arcade, console, emu, online, etc. that’s definitely not a legitimate excuse.
someone who’s entire game is based around features only present in one version however is going to have a difficult time. If you only play 100+ ping people and rely more on people not reacting in time/gimmicky stuff then you’re not really playing the game. You’re playing the environment the game is in. In that case you’re relying on things not necessarily shared by all versions.
the advantage of arcade is it’s the default version and so it suffers from no additional oddities other than the ones built in. So if you learn on that you’re just better off in every other version. You’re learning qualities fundamental to every other iteration/environment.
I can vouch that danisen is no joke. Highest point I ever reached was 3rd dan, until Issei showed up and knocked me back down to first. To be ranked 10th dan in Tokyo is extremely difficult. Only foreigners that have done it AFAIK are Ryan and Marco (last year SBO qualifier) from France.
