Evo 2012 needs to change

You guys will have plenty of time/space to run all of your games. Don’t wait for the organizers to announce a tournament for your game and hook it up with a pot bonus. Mobilize.

No the problem is that you’re already lambasting them for ‘not playing a real fighting game’ and in reality that just makes you look like an idiot.

That’s not really the issue. A game being a “featured game” at Evo will always get more people entering it than if it was a side tournament. Hands down. That’s why people want to see certain games at evo, cause it means that it’ll have higher attendance than if it was just run as a side tournament.

Plus, the real tourney is almost always more effecient than side tourneys, where you have to fight over TVs and you need people to bring systems and someone to run the bracket etc.

This would be the only thing that would motivate me to attend at this point. Or a huge ST (or HF  ) tourny. These new games just don’t cut it

Honestly what you’re suggesting is silly. If KOF is at evo of course I would want Dark Geese there. Suggesting otherwise is stupid. I’d even want Emil there.

Say all you want about Geese but him not being there would be a disservice. All the stupid shit that’s gone down he’s been their trying to run shit, and we’d proabbly get more South American players with him their than without.

If he even came. Before he stopped posted he said EVO was a waste of his and every SNK players time, that EVO sucks and SNK doesn’t need EVO.

And in the FGC most people affiliate the SNK scene with him. Which IMO is not a good look.

who cares, people have said worse shit. In the end people have still showed up to evo. Dark Geese included (well, not in the past few yearsr).
If people choose not to play KOF (insert game here) because of Dark Geese (insert person here) then they weren’t serious from the get go. Sorry, argument sounds kinda weak.

I honestly don’t see your point, it sounds like you’re hating just for the sake of hating at this point.

TT2 will be at Evo

Have EVO 2012 at the MGM Grand PLZ! I would love you forever.

Best. Idea. Ever.

Have every fighting game ever at EVO this year.

We talk about this ever year in our group and you know this, man. How hype would it be to have all the finals broadcasted on the monitors mounted on the outside of the hotel? THE ENTIRE STRIP NEEDS TO SEE OUR HYPE

imo, the past non-existence of a snk/kof scene in america in irrelevant to how popular kof13 will be at tournaments. it’s a new game, it will generate a new scene with new players.

and please correct me if i’m wrong, but i’m going to assume that the people who are seriously doubting whether kof13 will be at EVO 2012 haven’t played it, or at least haven’t played it substantially. from my experience, anyone who has spent sufficient time with the game has loved it, and knows that this game is some serious business. but meh, it’s cool. once it comes out for console, people will see.

War… war never changes.

War… war has changed.

It’s not like there has never been a good KOF game in the past 17 years. If KOF98, KOF2002 and KOFXI never featured in EVO, the odds of KOFXIII making a successful scene is always going to be not so high. The series has never been popular in the US and the reasons for that goes beyond how good the KOF games actually are. So SNK and their fans will have a uphill task to convince everyone that the game can pull in a few hundred in EVO.

How would these suggestions about extending EVO or moving it to a new location affect the venue fee? Didn’t it go from 50 to 75 this year?

i see your point, but we’re living in different times now and fighting games in general are more popular. my logic is, if blazblue has a decent sized scene, there’s no reason why kof13 wouldn’t have a comparable one.

Blazblue got its scene from those GG faithfuls. There was a decent sized GG scene, and whether or not Blazblue has a decent sized scene now is highly debatable, considering how most seems to be convinced that the game won’t be returning into EVO2012.
