Skullsgirls is a new FG property…I’d rather see what happens with its community after it’s arrival.
Throwing it to Evo this year is too early IMO.
Why no Skullgirls???
This isn’t fucking twitter. Why are you hashtagging?
And why are you acting like the EVO Staff isn’t in the know? Skullgirls obviously isn’t in the line up for a reason. Know what that reason is? The reason is likely 1 of 2 things. 1) It won’t be out long enough for people to prepare for the tournament or 2) It simply won’t be out before EVO.
MK9 this time around is like a brand new game. With all the DLC characters being legal this time around and all the patches we’ve had (or will get) it’s like a brand new game.
MK got around 500 entrants last year, and we are more hyped for it this year. Plus we got some international players coming as well.
SkullGirls is a brand new game and franchise. It would be a terrible business decision to put it in because no one knows whether it will last or if it will die off quickly. Like I said though side tournaments are always an option, if it is still popular by then.
Kinda glad Soulcalibur 5 got in. Kinda disappointed SFxT is in, like really.
Why…you’ve played it?
SFxT is going to get a lot of entrants, whether they are casual or not. I am psyched to see high level Soul Calibur play.
No it just doesn’t look that good. I’m not the kind to judge a game that doesn’t come out usually though so whatever. People said it would get in just because it’s a Capcom game though and I guess they were right.

DA KING OF FIGHTAHS
yussssssssssssssssssss
SRK universally doesn’t give a fuck about SFxT from what I’ve been reading.
Gems, yo. Smash Fighter x Tekken.
That’s actually a meme by haunts that represent the real fighting games we have this game. You know the ones focused on skilled play and fundamentals. KOF and SG so far.
And the two reasons you gave are far from being the correct ones. Skullgirls will be released in early 2012, around Jan/Feb and will be plenty of time to practice. And by that logic games like MK9 wouldn’t have made EVO. So, no, just, no.
Anyways, I’ll support the side tournament. I just can’t believe that a game with unreliable hitboxes and no actual accurate frame data is actually in for a second time. First time is a freebie, but the games flaws are more than solidify by now. But ok, shoutouts to the MK community (MKU and TYM) and here’s hoping the next NRS game will be a proper fighter, it’s close but needs reworking.
People said the same thing about Soul getting in because it’s Namco.
SFxT AND SF4? boring
KOFXIII FUCK YEAH
I’m pretty disappointed to see that skullgirls isn’t in. Gonna go to evo just for the SG side tournament.
MK9, a game you said would die after EVO, is in EVO 2012.
UMvC3, a game you said was just a finalized version of an earlier beta, and a
shitty sequel to MvC2 that takes little to no skill, is in EVO 2012.
SFxTekken, possibly the most hated game in the community that isn’t even out yet
and has been called a party game, has tons of DLC gems, and is set up so
it will take forever just to set up gems in matches, is in EVO 2012
But Skullgirls isn’t.
How’s it feel weeaboos? Oh well, you guys can always have some small
sidetourney, that’ll get aired on the stream for like an hour as stream
monsters go “wtf is this gay ass animu bullshit put Marvel/MK9/SFxTekken
back on!”
Fucking PWNED.
I’m quite surprised to see people MAD about Skullgirls not being in the Evo lineup this year…
what was the point of the skullgirls interview and shit last evo if the game wasnt even going to be in the lineup just to include SF4:Gems edition(with tekken chars too lol)
Actually, we do have actual accurate frame data, and hitboxes are inconsistent at times but for the most part get the job done.
What’s that thing…oh yeah. #ignorance. Is that how it works?
Wow, KOF is in the main event…
About time.
Is Dark Geese still in the scene? I bet he’d enjoy this.
