There was no reason for a casual player to pick up Super, these are guys who played Ken or Ryu for a month or two and than went back to COD or whatever. Than you got the idiots who think Super should be free DLC…
Edit - IV did 3.1 million and Super did 1.6 million worldwide.
Mainstream consumers don’t care about AE and it isn’t marketed as such. SFxT will have more mainstream appeal simply on the merit of it being a new game.
Between this, the letter, and the proposal…
Tataki, are you just trolling the shit out of SRK? Since when did speculation threads become alright to post? They tend to lead to absolutely nowhere.
I definitely agree with that… People need to shape up or this whole thing that took 15 years to build is going to collapse. People need to stop forgetting their roots.
BBCS got amazing view count during evo (and hype at evo) and made alot of people (including myself) get into the game. I can see this game getting alot bigger.
Main games though
SSF4ae (This will be at evo until SF5)
SFxTekken (tbh I dont think this will be as big as everyone expects)
UMvC3 (Will be at evo till MvC4)
Tekken 6 (TTT2)
BB CS
MK
3S should be there as its just been re-released meaning your going to get a hell of alot more players playing it online. I dont know how tekken players feel about SFxTekken?
Even without it…
I’m going to be bold here and predict that our hype about SFxT is going to be there’s about TxSF… I honestly don’t give a fuck about TxSF… and I used to main Tekken as my game…
Personally, I’m curious about it, since I want to see how Harada an co. bring projectiles and shizz into a 3D game. That said, I’m wary too since so far, no non-Capcom cross company crossover has been truly considered legit (kinda hard to argue for SvC in the face of CvS2 and don’t even bring up Marvel Nemesis and MK vs. DCU).
You mean you do no know the game with the second highest number of entrants for 2 years (last year mostly tied with Tekken, though) got dropped in favor of new games already? I think you are not really understanding the situation. SF4 has already sold its copies. It will play sort of similarly to this new game from Capcom, which Capcom wants to market, and if it is featured as the main game of big tournaments, it will sell even more, cos many from the new generation thinks EVO is everything, if it is featured at tournaments, it not only must be good, it is proven to be good. That’s all there is to it. If you bring back CE/MvC2/whatever and have big tournaments with it all around it will still not be featured. And no community will outbid Capcom or Nanco for a spot. If it is not on PS3, it will not be featured. And so on. Capcom does not want to have more games, it wants to sell more games.
I believe mk9 is here to stay and sf4 spot wont be taken by sfxt. Sf4 will always have its concrete position within Evo. Not 100% sure about ttt2 but Im pretty sure that will be included as well
I don’t see SCV making a showing at Evo. When SCIV came out, it was one of the smallest showings of any game at Evo that year, and the Namco heads were still on their 3rd year of playing T5. It’ll be a fun game, sell a bunch overseas and will get a lot of play on Xbox Live, but a major competitive tournament scene for any game in the Soul Calibur series isn’t going to leave France for a long, long time.
Also, no way in hell TTT2 console is out by next Evo. I’d be surprised if it even came out next year. It took Namco over a year to bring TTT from the arcade to console, and then almost 3 years to get T6 from arcade to console. If the TTT2 arcade version were to be released tomorrow, we’d expect TTT2 on consoles sometime around Q4 2012. And it’s not even slated for release until Q2 2012.
