I’m hoping for a “vanilla” SSFIV tournament at EVO.
I honestly don’t think BB should be at Evo if CS isn’t out on console in time. I know a lot of arcades here in socal are hopping on that shit once it’s released 11/20. Same with arcade ufo at Texas.If Evo, the biggest fighting tournament in NA, is sticking with CT, then its putting top players in a huge bind. Continue to practice outdated CT on console or say fuck it and play the new version? I know I won’t play CT just for Evo, and I know a lot of top players won’t either. If anyone wants any proof look and see how shitty Tekken 5:DR did at Evo 2k8.
As for why the BB scene in America is kinda dying, it’s because a lot of people who entered BB through SFIV quit already (btw, number one reason is: fuck it, it’s too hard to play). I was in the BB tourney at this year’s Evo, and a lot of the players I played in the first few rounds were complete ass. They basically signed up by default because they thought “hey, i’m pretty good at sfiv, must be good at other fighters too!” Unfortunately that’s not the case, so the majority of them quit. Now we’re just relying on people coming over from GG, but a lot of the GG population hate BB, so that makes our scene even smaller.
Marvel 2 is dead. Maybe when the Japanese came, it was interesting other than that, no.

All I see is SSF4, HDRemix(which should be dead), and Tekken 6.
Just put in TvC for one year and make Capcom feel good about porting over a non-SF fighting game for once.
It’s not like there hasn’t been worse games in the line-up.

The kid was clearly talking about TvC: CGH not TvC: UAS, which is not out yet. If either of you knew how not to be utter stupid asses then you might be able to figure it out before I told you. Back on topic, this should be the year of the Wii. Bring back GG:AC play it on Wii. Work out Brawl, play it on Wii. Put TvC: UAS on the big screen but play it on Wii. The rest can be PS3 games, T6, Sf4, BB. Just what I think would be cool to me, phase out the old school and bring forth new school!!!

Year of the Wii no doubt. I really just want GG:AC back at EVO because Blaz Blu is trash to me. I know that they are trying to phase out old systems but with marvel as big as it is I do not see that happening, but I also do not see the ps2 at another Evo without 3s being there.
Evo does not really need to stay to one system, and to bring down the number of different kinds of consoles at the tourney in my eyes would hurt with the overall market appeal of the fighting game community. It is our biggest Major and we are a console based Country, have all the next gen systems there and play one or two games off of each.

Given how grasshopper manufacture is porting no more heroes to ps3/360, i could see TVC on psn/live in a future, the question is will capcom do it? seems unlikely though i agree with josh besides Tekken 6, HD Remix, and SFIV, it’s a gamble for a 4th game other than marvel.

The CvS2 tourney at NorCal Regionals was hype as hell.

I agree with this lol, it’s a good game and people still somewhat play it so we should bring it back.
I would like to see EVO announce their games VERY VERY early for the following year. Anywhere from like 10-8 months ahead of next EVO. This would give us so much time to practice. A lot of the time, we practice games we THINK will be there but that era is ending. More games keep coming out and eventually these newer ones will take up old slots if they get popular.
2001\02-08, you pretty much knew what the line up was going to be. ST, 3s, cvs2, mvc2. Around this time, capcom was putting out shitty\ or very little games and they didn’t make it to the mainstream tournaments like CFJ. So during this time frame, you could practice those games knowing they will be @ EVO. 2010 is gonna pretty interesting. We have MORE games coming out and not enough slots for future games. Time constraints are already a bitch.
Something has gotta give, a new game gets the boot or an old one. W\E the case is, I just need time to practice w\o the fear that _______ game will not be @ EVO this year. Besides, if players had more time to practice xxx game, it will only make EVO better itself because the level of play will be better and more entertaining.
CVS2 would only get as much entrants as NCR. It would be a good side tourney idea… but there is not enough interest around the nation for it unfortunately.
