I wonder if Blazblue CS will be released on console in the US before Europe gets Blazblue CT on console.

Also, I agree with the last few BBCT comments, NO ONE cares about that game at all. Unless Evo wants to run a pirate setup of CS (which I’m sure wont happen and I understand why) basically all we can do is pray to arcsys that the game comes out in time. If it doesn’t then BB will be a snoozefest.
Yeah I’ll chime in and say that regular Blazblue is a fucking joke. Hacked Continuum Shift available on PC and every good arcade in the US having a legit copy of CS? Just do another Super SFIV tournament instead since that seems to be working so far…

Hopefully “Calamity Trigger” is just placeholder before they get confirmation of the Continuum Shift release date. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be june or earlier.

Hey man, not sure if you caught my earlier question, but I’m really curious what you think makes HDR a bad game. I’m really not interested in the opinion of a bunch of people that are as mediocre, or worse, than me. And I also don’t care about people who main a single character(ex. Chun, Hawk, etc) who think HDR is crap simply because they don’t like the changes to their character, cause let’s face it, every version of SF2 has upgraded/downgraded each of the characters. CE -> HF Bison/Sim anyone?
I respect you as a good player and I know that you use a variety of characters, so I really am curious why you think HDR is a “really bad” game. Is it because it has glitches (Hawk’s throw stuff, Boxer’s TAP negative edge rushes, etc)? If so, I’d argue that ST has plenty of glitches, and some were fixed in HDR. Is it that you think some characters are too good/bad now? Is it frame tweaks like that you’re more likely to whiff a shoryu if you try to walk forward and throw a fireball, as opposed to being random but usually successful with that in ST? I really am curious. And I hope you can expound on this a bit.
From where I sit, I think HF, ST, and HDR are all REALLY good games. In regards to ST vs HDR, I absolutely LOVE that Vega’s wall dive x 100 crap is gone. Watching Choi vs Tokido’s wall dive spam in finals again holds no interest to me. It makes the game look dumb, IMO. I’m also not crazy about O.Sagat, though to be fair it’s slightly less dumb to watch him than wall dive spam. I don’t agree with *all *the changes in HDR. But to me, it’s 99% the same as ST, and removes the two things that I think are most boring to watch / play against. For that reason alone, I prefer HDR. Still, if ST was being played at Evo, I’d play that too.
I guess I just don’t get all the HDR hate from the OG ST people, especially since I’m old too. It’s not like I started with HDR or anything. LOL. Maybe you can explain it to me…

I know I am late to the party here but in regards to the female only tournaments, I think it would be better to showcase unity between male and female players and make it a 2v2 tournament where each girl pairs up with a guy. I know this sounds like a corny school dance type of thing but I think it would be really entertaining to watch and could have some really interesting outcomes.
ROM and Super Yan are a perfect example of two people simply working together to get better at fighting games and I think there are a lot of other potential female/male teams out there as well. I think this would also encourage girls to compete becuase they could bug their boyfriend or whoever else to enter with them and really would make the whole thing a lot more enjoyable for everyone involved.
Maybe I’m missing the point here but I just feel like if we put a little more thought into this we can turn it into something that everyone can agree on.
edit: also, please fucking take out blazble and replace it with 3s… Lots of people still play 3s ! come on! BlazBlue next year when CS is out on console or something.

Pretty much this. Rather than a rambling wall o text that says nothing in particular , I’d love to hear from any of the people who playtested what exactly is so earth shatteringly bad about the game. I’ve yet to hear anything substantial from them. A post over in the HDR forum would be great to see detailing why we should all hate it.
Anyway, back to complaining about the female tourney.
I have to agree with the sentiment that the Femme Fatale deal just seems like a bad idea, for countless reasons already stated. I, for the first time, have my shit together enough to make the cross-country trip to Evo, and there’s no MVC2, (tentatively, but after I told the rest of my crew, they all got mad, the Mahvel hype is too good to miss). Also, the female tournament allegedly “isn’t replacing anything”. Sounds logically impossible to me. They have to dedicate resources to it, entries, bracketing, SETUPS, how is this not at the expense of the other games? IDK crap about BB, but that seems to be a mess. I think all games should be voted on besides the big two, that way the majority will get to decide and the most people will be satisfied.
Someone’s going to have to explain in depth to me why HDR is a “really bad” as well. “Different to ST” != “really bad”. Some (most? All?) of the OG are notorious for not liking anything that isn’t pure ST so I’m actually wary of what they say.
Oh, and from what I’ve heard, since I actually haven’t played the game, having BBCT is a really bad idea. That’s like putting in CvS1 in the lineup post B5.
I like Haunts’ idea… a guy/girl 2v2 tournament would be fun as a side thing. Just hope Ricky or Marn don’t get girlfriends… not sure which is less likely. ;[
I’m another supporter of M/F team tourney. Think this has all the positives and none of the negatives associated with the all female tourney and shows unity among F/M gamers as mentioned by haunts
CvS2 or Melty Blood, imo. As one of my homeboy’s said MvC2 is not as hype @ Evo as it use to be. However, @ Final Round and Season’s Beatings the energy is as strong as it ever was. Melty Blood community deserves a place they been here for a minute, and dont look like they going anywhere.
CvS2 is my personal favorite out of the games left. So I voted CvS2 indeed And…if it just so happens to make it will peeps take it into consideration to use the console characters as E.Ryu, R. Iori? Seeing as no one really plays the arcade version anymore here in the US, and SF4 scene allows the console characters to be used. So I think something like that would breath some new life into the cvs2 scene to me thats a no brainer. Rumor is its not a noticable increase but some folks are picking it back up. So yeah. Bring back the Milliionaire Fighting, man

Seriously, HDR just toned down the old BS of ST, I played ST for years and years and years, the person behind HDR was a tourny player since the very start, all the players who helped make the changes had established tourney experience.
HDR is a better game overall, I dont know about you, but does anyone really give a shit about watching yet another OG Gat tiger shotting ad naseum? Does any one really care to see Sim noogie loops for a whole round? Does anyone really need Rog to be THAT fugging buff?
Alot of the OG HDR haters are just pissed thier old shenanigans dont work anymore, heaven forfend that they might have to learn new matchups due to more chars being actually competitive… These are probobly the same haters who would like nothing more then 27 Chun/Yun matches for Evo 3S.
Seriously, I have been part of this community for quite some time now, I have seen Evo grow through out the years, and one constant I have noticed in the community is a small sub set of the group utterly HATES a more balanced game, no matter what, more balance/diversity just drives these people nuts, never any reason.
ok, i actually took some time last night and chatted with some people on irc regarding hdr. first off, you really dont know what happened during the beta test runs of this game. sirlin asked all the top players to come try it out and give feedback. people spent their hard earned money, time, and effort and gave sirlin a huge list of what they thought should be adjusted and fixed. heres the best part… sirlin then decided he was smarter and better than everyone else (as usual) and proceeded to say meh, these guys dont know what theyre talking about so he took it upon himself keep the game the way he personally designed it and didnt take into consideration what anyone else said. this matter was actually made public at some point and i guess you missed it so here.
also in regards to no solid reasoning, everyone has there issues involving any game. i also spent a ton of time on irc explaining what i thought the fallbacks were to ST then compared them to HDR. whenever you try to tweak a game there will be a ton of glitches and other properties that are totally changed. and by you thinking that people have time or care enough to go the the “HDR forum” to post them in order for them to be relevant is actually asking alot. the group of players that came from the ST and previous SF era pretty much will tell you the game is not good yet it is played because its convenient. just because there was a ton of entries for it does not mean it was a preferred game. i can speak for many players when i say this game is never practiced, people show up and just play it for fun because of their love for SF, and no one really takes this game seriously. no one that used to that is, im sure you have a few hardcore players but w/e. bottom line is, an effort was made by the community to make this game better, sirlin gave a big FU to them, and now it is what it is. yeah, maybe some like it, but honestly, the majority hates this game and if you want to know why exactly, sorry, ive spent enough time just replying to you.
