They’d probably go by legal gender, in which case a male-to-female transgendered player would be prohibited from entering the tournament unless her transition is 100-percent complete and the government has acknowledge as such. That would, at the very least, be the politically correct way to run things like that.
Doing a female tournament instead of just a 2v2 or 3v3 tournament is rather silly imo.

I’ve been absolutely in love with this idea since I started playing fighting games. I came from Magic which uses that system. It not only helps with pairings in early rounds(high rated players get matched up against low rated), it rewards players moreso for beating players who are better than them and doesn’t reward players for beating lesser players ratings wise.
I’d also love to see a Swiss SF tournament, but the number of stations you would need makes that pretty unreasonable.

As a Marvel player, I hope Marvel does NOT make it as the voted game. I’d rather play CvS2 the right way instead of Marvel the ass-backwards way. Save Marvel for its real major @ Seasons Beatings. lol @ WNBA Street Fighter and old version of a dead game (Blazblue). And I fully support the side event finals on big screen idea.

Am I the only person who thinks a “women only” tournament is not only unnecessary, but a little sexist? It’s not like there’s any physical factors that keep women from being as good as men in fighting games.

I like the line up I pretty much predicted it as its apparent that they want old games flushed out. Hence why there is no 3s or mvc2. as there “replacement games” are now whats hot and popular.
But having a female only tournament is imo carting to women in a “field” where thats the last thing that they need. This is not a physical sport, its like having chess players separating women and men.
Anyway there will be all of 15 people for this thing? It shouldnt take more than 2 hours to run…And the only people watching it will be other females (possibly) and dudes who have no old lady. Again if this is just suppose to be a lil 2 hour tournament on the big screen then great its all good. But to take away a game like marvel who’s lifeblood is the USA and evo, imo is very wrong.
3s is on its death bed anyway, well not so much that but its still played worldwide. “Marvel is **OUR **game” and anyone that still plays marvel enough to enter into a tournament still has there dreamcast stuff and sticks.
No marvel, sc4, or 3s is a bold move, I know sf4 is your new bread and butter. But don’t forget what games keep evo alive and popping during the great “depression” of gaming.
