I know that MVC2 has a a rich history and everything… but seriously, there is one game that deserves that last spot over every other game.
That game is Melty Blood Actress Again.
I don’t care if your someone who thinks the game is “gay animu bulshit”. The fact of the matter is, the community for that game has been working their asses off all year, repping at majors, throwing tourneys, running streams, and have just straight up been hype as all hell. The game happens to be really fun as well.
The community has tenacity and a shitload of heart. They deserve a spot.

I Think we should have Melty Blood over HDR. The game is great and all but its just boring to watch. Add Melty Blood and MvC2. Drop that dumbass all female ssf4 tournament that whole idea is just bullshit and sexist
On the Female Only SSF4 tournament:
There will obviously be “two sides” to this. One suggesting that an all female tournament would promote the “growth” of the fighting game community and expand its audience. I would think that the proposers of this idea feel that females’ interest in fighting games becomes disillusioned when placed against males because fighting games have been and still are overwhelmingly male dominated. The only credibility that I can see in doing this female only tournament is to encourage women to enter the scene by providing a comfort zone where they don’t have to worry about being completely embarassed in order to see if this could possibly grant a higher turn-out of women in the years to come. It is a marketing strategy meant to again, expand the gaming community…HOWEVER…
this idea/tournament should not come at the expense of games that voters still advocate for, games which have contributed largely to making evo what it is today. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 single handedly carried evo for six years or so. Its release on line after ten years on DC clearly depicts what good of a fighting game it really is (despite its brokenness). To potentially see it being put away by a “female only SF4 tournament” is not only outrageous, it is plain out sad.
Furthermore, I also agree that the “top 8” at evo for every fighting game should represent ONLY the cream of the crop, the highest skill of those present. If a female tournament is to be ran, it should be done as a “side project” because seeing a “women top 8” at the finals stage would be highly unpopular and highly criticized not because they are women, but because they will more than likely not represent the skill needed to reach the stage of a legitimate top 8. It would be more suiting if the women only tournament would be ran as a “SPECIAL EVENT” where it can just as easily be introduced to the female audience and it remains respectful to the competitive gaming audience. Branding it as a legitimate tournament will certainly cause it to lose all sense of credibility.
On a more “lighter” yet still “sad” part of this news: guys, if women eventually do become significantly involved in the fighting game scene you can kiss the term “rape,” (the term commonly used when you completely beast on someone!) goodbye and can begin training to sensor yourself from any outright racial, or any other politically incorrect terms that may put you in “gaming sensitivity training” lol jk…hopefully ha.
MVC2 needs to happen 
It’s not a joke, we’ve been busting our ass just to get people to bother acknowledging us, try respecting ‘us’ just a little even if its just to vote our own favorite games in the end, hmm?
There should be no need for this type of malice anyway, because even if we don’t make it in we’ll still be at Evo.
Melty should be at EVO the game is amazing and i know first hand how hype it gets i was there at NECX watching you guys play, im also a friend of LK’s
Listen guys, the Femme Fatale tournament didnt replace any game on the roster. Its a 7th game, and is considered an addition to the tournament. The order of the games that were announced live was just to ensure hype throughout the broadcast.
If the females dont want to enter the Femme event, but want to enter the all around SSF4, thats fine too. No one is forcing them to compete. We look forward to the Women’s event to see what they can showcase.

Mr. King I wish that would be the case but lets be realistic, if evo takes Marvel off the roster you will not see near the amount of hype that marvel deserves because the marvel players wouldn’t bothering showing up to evo anymore. The evo staff is not just killing Marvel they are killing evo with this insane decision they have made. Marvel players will end up going to seasons beatings for the “Big One” each year. Woman’s SF4… seriously?
