Does anyone know of any setups after his target combo…it’s not a hard knock down, but I hold up forward after target combo, jump lp…then combo…it stuffs ryu lp dp…I’m just trying to find use of tc…would be a great tool to punish if there is any good setups that follow
In the corner it’s a easy fake cross up set up against Shoto’s. No timing needed, just hold up forward into a J. HK after doing the target combo. That’s if they do quick stand. If they don’t quick stand then you can OS cr. MP and hold up forward again and it will catch the delayed stand. You have to do the target combo quickly though, don’t delay the timing between the cl. MP and the far HP. I know it works against shoto’s but I’m not aware if it works against anybody else. Props to Essex for finding it
I see a lot of e.ryu players opt to go for the lk tatsu juggler into hp dp FADC mk ak (or is it hk?) and I wonder why?
Are the setups after it are that good? unblockables on all?
In the corner it gives him tons of set ups. Some unblockables, mainly fake cross ups though. Mid screen, it’s pretty much just for a hard knockdown and safe jump set ups. Although he does have some set ups, the number is very low compared to the corner stuff.
Can you demonstrate a bit of those setups? or do you have any source that does that?
I never seen one of those midscreen setup, but maybe i found one from a shoryu FADC mk axe kick against Claw. Based on the timing of the jump you either cross up or hit front. I tend to use c.mk to time it but i think that i can find another move to time it perfectly.

Got a question: is there a way to know the frame advantage of an aerial move on a specific setup? ( nj.hk safe jump on f.throw)
what are some go-to frame-traps?
only using cr.MP > cr.MP so far
cr jab/crmp - 2 frame
cr jab cl fp xx - 3 frame [negative on block unless canceled, hado safe midscreen not when opponent cornered, mk axe not a true string safe vs normals vot vs invincible reversals]
cr jab cr fp xx - 4 frame [negative on block unless canceled, hado safe midscreen not when opponent cornered, mk axe not a true string safe vs normals vot vs invincible reversals]
any move that leaves you +2 -> hop kick [beats all crouch techs (even 3 framers) and all stand techs uses to mashed jabs
manually staggering jabs or doing cr lp/cr mp walk forward cr mp/cl fp
and finally the shimmy (walk back out of throw/short range walk forward, throw, walk back, wiff punish walk back lvl 2 focus
also remember chaining cr lp, cr lk, cr lp will catch people stand teching with the cr lk and since its a true string your reversal safe. if the cr lk hits you can do cr lk cr lp st mp xx lx axe kick fadc
these are the most basic ones look at frame data or replays to find any trickier ones
All the good stuff works only in the corner? (beside what you gave in the 2nd link)
Any adjustments for hitting cr.hk? (should I bother looking or it’s just doesn’t exist)

There are some mid screen character specific setups but im less familiar with them

Oh I see what you mean now i think. the cr hk kick is just for timing purposes. the only relevant unblockables/fake x ups that use sweep are after tatsu -> sweep on Cammy, Balrog, Rose, Dee Jay, and Dhalsim. or char specific meaty jab combos into sweep. Those are the only 2 ways to guarantee a consistant spacing.
For all the setups i have listed the sweep wiffs after the untechable kd for timimg purposes.

I was wondering how do you OS against backdash on standing wake up, when you don’t have time to jump (like after aa srk). I though that cr.lp cr.lp+cr.rh should do the trick but I was getting the to jabs on whiff. Was i just off somehow or there are other ideas.

jab/short OS sweep is the primary option. I just tried it vs ibuki and i tagged her as long as you are close enough and hitting the jab close to her first wakeup frame you should be all good.
I’m pretty sure you can jab os ultra but the timing for that is much harder
I believe you would do 2, 3, 6, 2, 3+lk/lp, 6+PPP/KKK, whatever followup normal
