Yeah you can, its pretty much the same as j.mp to f.mk
You can only combo MK DS from close MP, close fierce, c.hp and counter hit c.mk, so in the fast majority of circunstances (when you start from grounded hit confirms like c.lp, c.lk, etc) you have no way of comboing into it. So probably will only do the famous combo from jump ins, focus crumples and punishes.
Actually E. Ryu’s shoryuken has better recovery than Ryu’s shoryuken not to mention E.Ryu’s damage output is better than Ryu’s. but that’s my opinion…if any E. Ryu players here wanna spar with a ONI player(yes I’m dropping my sick Akuma for ONI) hit me up I’m in XBL my GT is Boriqua Kyaku send me a FR and a message to let me know who you are…BTW please have some skills in playing SF not trying to be rude or disrespectful in anyway but I’m trying to level up my skills so I’m just asking for players with my same skills or better. Thanks
and fireball has better recovery, it’s mean jump in over fireball will be easy to punish.
That’s true…
Added to my Character and matchup notebook, thank you sir.
3 cr.LP blocked followed by a f+MK kara Demon = fucking godlike
His normals are SO ANNOYING! They seem to have such damn specific ranges it’s not practical to do most big combos.
what combo are you trying to do? some character hitboxes don’t let you do certain things
i really like his fp kara throw.
jump hk, hp xx fireball fadc, hp xx MK axe kick, low MK tatsu shoryu
Does 469 dmg 810 stun holy shit!
MK axe kick is safe from DPs/jabs on block. LK is UNSAFE. HK also unsafe. so is EX
his far standing hp is godlike poke
Gotta get out of regular Ryu mode. Not going for axe kicks when I should.
fierce shoryu is best anti air
You can actually do a light shoryu to ultra 1 with both characters on the ground by making him stand a little further when doing the shoryuken so only the last few active frames hits the opponent leading to faster recovery and then from there on you mash ultra 1 like crap and hope it works and I’ve tried it and it works. Its really impractical but yeah it works for those saying it doesn’t.
Do you have any data? I’m experimenting in training mode and I can’t find what punishes the HK version, also Gief can grab/Chun can super a blocked MK axe kick.
My thoughts on Evil Ryu after a solid day of playing AE: he’s all about capitalizing on every mistake your opponent makes and stunning them ASAP. This may seem redundant to say as it was obvious already, but seriously; you aren’t going to be winning consistently if you don’t have perfect execution and quick enough reflexes to punish the absolute fuck out of your opponent whenever they leave themselves open. His zoning game is quite strong, but in AE you seriously, absolutely ***cannot ***rely purely on keeping the top tiers out. His footsies are solid as well, but even in that area there is almost no room for error as even simply eating a few pokes due to a poorly spaced cr.MK from characters like Makoto can negate all the hard work you did. He also lacks any “gimmicks”; his mixups really aren’t as effective as alot of the other offense oriented characters in AE. Evil Ryu requires complete precision. Playing him is almost exhausting. Or maybe I’m just not used to maining a character with such low health.
EDIT: And my preliminary opinion on the Makoto matchup is that it is fucking brutal. After playing my friend who mains Makoto all day, I left with the impression that there is no way that matchup ISN’T in Makoto’s favor. I could obviously be completely wrong as I have less than a day’s worth of experience with the matchup, so if anyone who’s more experienced would care to give their insight on this I’d be more than happy to hear it.
I’m not sure if this has been discussed/discovered but I think I have found a safe jump after a forward throw.
Basically whiff a st.mp and jump forward and do a dive kick. If you time it right it hits low enough to combo into cr.lp and it even stuffs 3 frame dps. I’m still trying to test out on more chars, but some dps/reversals just miss entirely (i.e. Sagat, Guile, and Balrog).
I’ll try to capture this on video when I have a chance.
flash kick is 4 frames Tiger uppercut is 5 frames idk about rog’s headbutt but thsoe are more than 3 frames
