happy halloween… double post from the one after… instead of deleting… SEASONS GREETINGS
if your going to tick throw with the kara make sure u can replace the throw with a lov for mix up at that distance. for example, cr short-> low lov (don’t cancel the short into low lov), then later-> cr short, tick throw with strong kara. u can hit further away with the short into lov and get the throw by kara’ing with roundhouse. probably good to start off just lobbing a lov after the short at first… if they dont parry u get to push them back and get a bit of chip. so once they start to parry thats when u can switch the lov for a kara throw.
whats nice about this is u can choose to either cancel the short into lov or wait till its done to throw a lov, either way if they attempted anything between those 2 moves there is little that can squeeze in to hit. cr short at max range, they sweep u r out of range. so u can hit with a lov after (kara throw if they want to block/parry your lov).
i understand why u would ask about tick throwing with kara’s, since it moves u so far forward it would be hard to set something up at that range unless u have another variation of attack u can switch to. just practice ticking into lov’s and then switching to the proper distance kara throw. instead of the obvious walk up short into kara nonsense i was doing in that vid…
it should be walk up short into low lov… =] not there yet… i will be tho lol
cr short to low lov not cancel?
explain??
i know that lov and be used as parry bait for throwing…
are you saying that low lov has block stun for throwing?
lov’s have good block stun if u do it meaty on wake up. sometimes i miss perfectly valid opportunities to throw someone if they block a lov. even if they block and know a throw attempt is coming u r far enough away (but close enough) to punish there throw whiff.

Heres something I’ve been working on:
Kara rapid fire. The interesting thing about rapid fire is that you can do a razor kick after every 3 sonic booms thrown. You kara the low sonic booms with mp, and high ones with rh. If you want to kara ex sonic boom, use rh for the high ones and use jab and fierce to ex, mp for the low ones and short and rh for the ex. The technique is best used in the corner after a knockdown (ex. neutral grab from half screen, knocks them in the corner, meaty sonic boom, dash, kara rapid fire). Its great for gaing some space on the opponent and kara grab setups. You can razor kick if they try to jump out (every 3 sonic booms that is).
its an old trick…i’ve done that before…its not very practical to use coz it will take long to buffer the charge…by that time your opponent must have jumped already since you’re using MP and HK…the intervals of the LoVs are very easy to evade…and you can do it also by using LP and LK…:pleased:
Should have some new vids up soon. I’ve been really busy with school and work.:smokin:
Does any1 have any request of what character I should fight?
if the connection allows it, u should get cali power’s ryu vs u. just start with him then pick another player who uses only one character (at there highest level so to speak)… well u know what i mean… u COULD use any character… but everyone always has that ONE they choose most often.
just come in with new stuff and maybe talk to some of the combovideo’s guys and ask if they can host. if u get big names playing with GOOD connections, i think ANYONE would like to see it… a series of u using remy versus every character in the game… if u can.
but we all have to remember that these vids (if done) will be casuals first and most importantly. win or lose, it wont officially show the level of skill since its just casual. i think i had to say this cus i thought about casuals as this mystical underground network of connections between players that r never annouced since they dont really matter. if it didnt matter why not show these matches? or at least talk about them.
whether u get your assed kicked or not in these vids i think it would really increase your overall learning since u’ll have a document to refer back to. we can all talk about it from character to character and can then figure out more of the character specific strats and see what works (or doesnt) with all characters.
just an idea tho u dont gotta do it, if your already capturing some vids why not go for more.
^ I feel you.
The wheels are in motion:tup:
The reason Remy’s taunt is so long is probably because Capcom wanted to show off the fact that Remy hates fighting and fighters and whatnot, and doesnt care about winning enough to taunt in a timely manner. Just a thought:smokin:
his taunt has random length to it that u cant control. sometimes its short and sometimes its hilariously long.
so anyone uses his target chain? sometimes its good to do vs chun especially while u rush her down before she has meter. it gives some bar and pushes her away pretty nice.
then when she has a bar i need to have a bar to spam random ex lov’s while she walks forward to kill me. of course they cant be completely random… they need to hit.
jump roundhouse in the corner while she comes forward will hit her in the forhead and over all her strong pokes.
remy taunts long because he can…
DOES his taunt do anything though!!!1
what? more damage resistant??
^More stun.
K, something I’ve noticed, but haven’t really experimented too much with it… in situations where you’re out of range of SA2, but have an opportunity to punish, you can throw an LOV to increase the range of your super so that it connects. I usually do an EX low LOV xx SA2 if I have bar, just cause EX comes out faster…
Any comments on this? Is it old? Useless? Is the EX worth it?
Actually, that leads me to ask… if you buffer an SA from a special attack, will the special attack come out faster than usual? For example, Remy charges for an LOV, fires it, but buffers the command for SA2. If executed properly, could he throw out the LOV, then cancel into SA2 on the first frame after it’s released?
Hope that made sense…
Everdred does remy have special setups for chun li? Like his UOH over her waking up body to crossup. And what other characthers can u cross up with the UOH? I was thinking small characthers such as oro, females and the brothers.
And i wanted to ask is there any way to juggle? the only thing i can get off is c.HP into CBK to SA2 but it does not take that much
Air-to-air j.hp puts them in a juggleable state, and you can do cbk, then flash kick in the corner, or maybe you can other places, it’s just harder and maybe requires a dash, then a charge partitioned flash kick…
new/old thoughts
someone tell me if this is a dumb idea or not, but while i play against a good yun if they get me to block the chain into genei jin as SOON as i’m not in block stun anymore i input a back dash (i’m inputting backdashes between the gaps while i block). its wierd cus i can get away the first time no problem but then they change it up the second time throwing out fierces so i get stuck longer in block stun. but the fierces i think r good cus i’m blocking them and its wasting the meter time they have to get me in the air. if they go for the command throw does anyone know if u can back dash out of it? i should be able to right?
what i wanna learn also is how do i take my block animation into a back dash and lov when i land from the dash. i’ve done this a couple of times but i haven’t got the right “feel” for that charge yet to make it consistant. anyone do back dash excapes into lov’s consistantly?
i’m going to learn how to block something and take the charge i got from blocking and use that for a lov after i dash back randomly. EVEN if they saw the back dash coming if i get to land and have a lov out that should cover my tracks.
just imagine the room u can make if u can do that on a whim… i got the simple dash charges into rrf and lov’s all fine and dandy but the real stuff to learn has to be with lov’s after ANY retreat. u back dash away and u got a lov infront of u stopping them from chasing. its really good when it works.
another thing i started to do instinctivly (sp?) would be is a parry into rapid fire.
its wierd and kinda hard to duplicate but i’ve done it a couple of times without thinking about it and its really nice. they get hit by atleast 2 of them at that range and the rest just push them back nice and far if they start to block. lets u dash in after too (your at mid range).
i noticed i play A HELL OF A LOT better when i’m low on health (i bet all remy players play better when they r about to die tho). sometimes the opponent loosens up more allowing more openings cus they see ANYTHING will kill u at that point. that makes it really easy to be random in some instances and take priviledges in the fight itself. if u suddenly become way aggressive they just wanna burn that meter to ex u off them for the win.
final thoughts
just be random
You can do it to every character excluding Q and Hugo. I’m almost 100 % of this. The timing for doing it on certian character can be diffcult. I usually do it against Urien, Shoto’s, and Chun-Li. I had problems doing it on other charatecers, but I play Elena now, hehehehehehe…
set ups for Chun? CBK (at the right distance)over a waking body (Stryker style) and you’ll cross over, then smack 'em with an RRF. I practiced this once on the CPU in training mode a while ago and the R. CBK actually attacked them from behind. I wonder if this means this can be used as an untraditional cross over (meaning they’ll have to block the other direction). I woldn’t know for sure because the CPU always knows how to Block so I wouldn’t know the condition for human players.
Um… a few other strange properties concerning CBK. Forward CBK, at the oddest of times, pulls Remy Behind the opponent after hitting them upfront. So Does EX if only the second hit doesn’t connect. Also EX CBK CAN go over fireballs but it’s the hardest to time. R. CBK goes over Urine’s Projectile if you time it right just well. Anyway, that’s my CBK contribution, Remy’s weirdest, coolest, and most deceptive move.
BTW: Remember you can’t cross up every character in the Corner, I think it has something to do with the stage. If so, If you want, make sure you pick a stage where you know Ken can’t cross you up in the Corner on the DC.
