Everdred Teaches Remy

Slightly off-topic, but Everdred, why dont you clean up the mess we have of this thread and update the opening post to include basic info leading to set-ups and mind-games, etc. Was surfing on the Ryu thread and found loads of knowledge on the first post that remains relativly updated as the thread itself develops. Saves alot of time going through all 90, soon to be 30 pages of tacs and tidbits.

Just a thought.

well if something comes up, if its good to know or important information i think it should be left in it’s original text. the ppl who were doing that discussion at that time would have cleared any questions that might arise (if u have a new question just ask it by quoting from a previous post) and the random blirts and shit just tell which time period it was in.

i will try to go in and pull it out on the front page then if its what everyone wants.

on second thought i might not change a thing, why give all the info that the 5 ppl in these forums diiscussed for 3-4 years to ppl who just wanna come up in here and x copy half of it after only a couple days of playing. sure its alot of shit to shift through but it’s there to find just like chapters in a book. if u were there along the way to write it with me u should know where some of the info is already =]

and how could i categorize strats and tactics on the front page like that? the whole evolution of techniques in this thread is something important to have. u cant arrive at meaty lov strats unless u know how to safely get a knock down to give u enough time to have it out on them. one piece of info gets learned and u include that with past info to make something new. just to have a bunch of random shit on a list for a character like remy seems to me pointless.

Very well said:tup:

I haven’t posted anything really in this thread because I felt that I lacked the nessacary skills to even be able to give advice(I still feel the same way).
But over the last month or so Remy has come a long way for me. Its kind of like a puzzle…in due time you see where the pieces are supposed to go. I have so much more to learn with remy…

I have a vid of my Remy that I recorded off of XBL that I’m hosting. I would appreaciate it if you guyz took alook at it and told me your HONEST opions. I take my hat off to cats like Naysayism and Everdred because they know how to keep it real.

Why don’t you stop being fuckin’ lazy and read the first 7 pages asshole! Mutha fuckaz always want an easy way out!

Try mixing up early jumping roundhouse and deep jumping roundhouse on tall characters like Urien more.

Play Urien from a closer distances than whole screen, try to aim for half screen. Apply that pressure on him more. I notice you do the rapid fire from far away, that won’t cut it when you start going to major tournies.

Sometimes it looks like you just do things just to do them. Try to react more on what your opponents do. Like with the cbk, seems like you just do them to do them at times (I guess because it just feels right?). Remember you want to use that move to punish whiff sweeps and certian whiff pokes. Sometimes your throw out lovs to early when they jump at you, but I notice alot of Remy’s do that so blah… That’s why people should play ST, lol. I really can’t think of anything else, I’ll look at it again later, but you are just lucky Nas doesn’t know how to fight Remy, HAHAHAHA!

…Keeping it real. Thanx for the honesty  , all the things that you mentioned I have been seeing in my game. Escpecially the CBK I do find my self throwing them out there time to time…as u said it sometimes feels right in my case. But what really gets me is dashin and then doing CBK, Because now you have 3 variable distances to worry about.
1.The distance the CBK will take you
2. Where you land after your dash
3. And then where your opponent is after you completed your dash.
So I guess I find my self trying to feel more then see.
LoL and Nas has played my Remy so much I’m surprised he dosen’t know how to play him let alone beat him. But 4real Nas is a good playa who’s working his way up quickly. He has a pretty tight ryu who has peaced the shit out of my remy a few times. I should have those vids up soon.

good grounding. good charge partitioning.

the urien you were playing look like he sucks though…

i cant view your vid, rage… motha fucking mac computer… shoot this thing one day i swear.

Ok alot of people have been saying that they were having trouble with that link so I hosted it somewhere else.

i love charge characters, and before remy…i picked urien and had a good run with him…

how bout giving me some practical combos outside the one hit into LOV or RRK…thnx,

also, between saI and saII…which sa is better or are they character specific or what, i use saII because it can be an anti air and a good wake-up…

after a close parry u can mash out 3 cr jabs into a roundhouse rrf

^ There You Go. Remy Can Combo!

Everdred You’re My Hero!!

Ex That Shit!!!

SAII as an anti-air hits probably as much as a regular EX RRF.

I like SAI because you can set it up with flying HP as anti air only missing one or two lovs.

SAI recovers fast so you can always try the cr. lk + SAI and don’t worry about opponent retaliating

yea, or cr. lp, cr. lp EX RRF

Without an EX that is the best combo to do though, as if they block (if you didn’t parry) you can tell if the jab is hitting or not, if it isn’t you don’t wont waste a RRF and have a huge chance of getting owned.

 ehh ok

…

thanx for the fast replies…

for the saI, c.lkxxsaI does this work anywhere? provided ur close enoguh, or corner only…

how about that neutral throw then saI, what can i follow after it…thanx

cr.lp x2, EX RRF should be used sparingly as it only works from pretty much point blank range. It should be noted that you cannot combo an EX RRF from cr.lp x3. RH RRF however, has a greater horizontal range, and therefore cr.lp x3, RH RRF will work just fine.

You guys should try this:
cr.lk tick (partition down) walk up a bit, close mp, cr.lk, roundhouse RRF. 3 hit combo that also works on jump in.

sa1, clkxxsa1… hmmm… i was thinking about that one the other day

you can pull off cr. mp + sa1 + RRF… yes they all connect!! not all the time though… must be something with the timing of the cr. mp after sa1

after neutral throw + sa1 you can HK CBK

iwst99 you wanna make a video of all the things we are discovering now?

what is remy’s kara throw? fk?
