Everdred Teaches Remy

Oh I know that one. If less than 6 lov’s hit, you can CBK him. You have to pick the right strength depend on how they’re falling.

if you’re fighting a big guy like Hugo (this might only work on hugo) while he is in the corner, EX CBK, to SAI as they’re falling to Flash Kick or CBK or LoV. I believe if you do CBK you can then flash kick after that too.

on a more praticial note, a CBK can be combo’d into after a standing close MK if your opponent is crouching. If MK works, will Short work?

damn u already spreading shit lol, it only works with mk cus the crouching hit stun gives u enough frame advantage to combo to short cbk when u cancel into it from the standing forward.

nah but for reals yo…

from now on (not like anyone cares r not, i know that already from most of srk)…

i’m using sa3 with remy just as a handicap to get better… i realize that because i played remy for so long that my skill level has gotten to where it is strictly because of that. i’m above average cus i use low tier (simple and honest statement). so i figure if i used a lower tier character than remy, than that would elevate the skills i needed to play right?

i am already using alex and sean in casuals… why not “level up” with the character i play already?

besides i really like the damage sa3 has (ATLEAST 45% or more on everyone)… sure there is a huge risk since i take horrible damage and stun if i miss it heck, i pretty much lost that round… but how is that any different from what happens when u get “caught” in normal play anyways? its just one more hole the player needs to fill (in a very non-gay way… damn homophobes).

another mind game i noticed with the short bar sa3 allows is the fact sa3 has only 2 ex’s when completely full. u use 1 ex it goes to 50%, use another ex i think it goes to empty or close to. the opponent wont expect u to blow your meter on a ex lov as he jumps in (or anything for that matter). because most of the time u’ll be playing without the use of ex’s (or have a full bar). it makes the appearance of an ex move very rare, which i think is a good thing because u have more control over when it comes out.

i first saw this type of play from frankie 3s, he uses sa3 ryu (most of u already know this). most importantly he is a very good ryu to begin with. i dont know how he would play chun or ken, but in his ryu u can tell he really enjoys what ryu has available to him and doesnt mind the problems and limitations ryu has because he makes up for it with solid gameplay and the high risk and high reward denjin.

i wanna be at THAT level… so i’m just going to become a drug dealer to pay for all the sa3 remy losses til i learn.

j/k about the drug dealing… or am i?

Besides cbk, cr. strong, and standing foward, what other moves would you use to opition select parry with?

what do yoy guys do against kens that play like Daigo’s?i really hate that shit…

how do you guys p;lay against kens who keep pressurin you…kinda of playing like Daigo?i really hate that shit…

i see what ur saying about using sa3…and comparing to frankie 3s’s denjin ryu really makes ur point stand out cuz i see him play at ffa. he’s got mad 3s skills first off, and ryu is damn strong.

remys sa3 is pure mind games. very high risk/high reward. too rich for my blood.

Zone him down… really.
If he comes to close you’ll just have to rely on your mixup game - and it better be good. Try to runaway though…

Extremely friggen cool. If I was a crazy rich person i’d make a donation. lol

remy seems to be freaky with the throws.

how can i perform a tick throw?

:d::lk: + :r: :lp::lk: ?

can i kara throw after :d::lk:

why does these thread have to die? lock this and start a new one already…

Ok Mr. Remy expert, I’m calling you out. How would you zone him, and what mixups are you talking about? Give detailed examples…

I’m no real expert so you can’t really call me out. I just run away when I face a good Ken and it kinda works better than try to rush him down.

ok, ok…

week 1 sa3 remy

well playing casuals at cf this friday i decided to start my experiment into finding out why sa3 sucks so much.=]

playing through i find out its actually a mixed bag of 20-25% hit rate to actually land the blue nocturne (BN). this of course based on my skill level at my current time… that is… now.

i was able to land it in various ways…

back dash replacement= i come in and attack i get too close the first time its up to me basically to decide when its time to back dash away (or kara throw). the opponent being attacked wont know the first time WHERE i end my attack to back dash to reposition. so when i have bar i do the same sequence again and watch them twitch instead of block to BN. this involves watching limb start up in a way but the further away the opponent is the easier it is to see it come out.

careless lov = i throw a high lov to early this punishes shoto roundhouses (everyone knows this)

careless cbk = cbk too close u get thrown, cbk at the tip of there toe, all the sudden it’s the best poke in the world… the opponent got hit with this or not has to get u back for this, he cant let u get in to position to do this again. all the sudden u fuck up and cbk too far away… damn i got swept! from a further position u can BN when u land from the cbk.

there is a use for the mk cbk, when the opponent is walking backwards this hits late as they step away from it first. the slow start up of the intial jump up is hopefully far enough away to not be DP’d but allows the kick to reach a little more than the short cbk but hitting deeper while looking like the short version. it lets the opponent still walk back away having limited time to react to parry since they r staring at your feet while u walk toward them.

why it sucks

cant knock down and resets opponent if they were in the air. but u can get all the hits against a airborne attack. the super just has to be activated as soon as the opponent’s attack animation ends and the opponent lands, so u gotta basically get the tail end of there attack the moment before they were suppsed to land… it reminds me of a snk super in a way when i did it once… lol

i’ll have to practice this move perhaps crouching since a ducking remy makes the opponent hit later so if i can get it so i stand up into it then that would be gold. i guess capcom wanted it as a extremely difficult way to anti air someone using the old invincible sagat upper cut theory… where the lower the upper cut hits from the more invincible it is so if the player practices doing a DP motion crouching then they catch the opponent at his most lowest and most envulnerable point. but for remy’s case its used so he has the opponent on the ground for all the hits. remy has situations where this works. using lov’s a for opponents to parry and baiting super low flying roundhouse kicks flying chest height from the parry.

i guess thats the difference between ST and 3S, third strike double checks just as badly as super turbo for those “guaranteed” set ups… lol

more later…not high anymore

thanks for the updates on your sa3 experiments. the process of landing sa3 is more interesting than actually landing it…if that makes any sense.

Then stop trying to give people advice when you can’t even elaborate on the advice you give to others. I’m not being rude, I’m just being real.

Pull out your advice instead of hating then. Cheers.

things i started doing while playing sa3

i focus on the strengths the normal versions of the lov’s have, sure they dont deliver in a quick shot of damage like the ex versions but they serve there purpose very well vs someone in the air, or waking up. so alot of the time i spend dancing around on the other side of the screen trying to build meter and match my throws with the opponent’s jump (i could have an lov under him or infront of him to parry). other than that, i use them on wake ups and try to throw them out like normals as i make sure they whiff or hit the opponent. if it whiffs i can throw them for blocking and if it hits i’m there to atleast tag on a strong or short. depending on if its a high or low lov on wake up gives u a chance to mess with his towards and forward and his uoh.

putting a lov out on the screen as the opponent rises gives me a chance to set up a rrf to buffer to after i poke from the lov. many instances its really easy to get a cr short after the uoh, so it’s now more clear to me what i should be doing as they wake up. the added bonus is they have the BN in the back of there mind’s. whether they think u’ll do it or not doesnt matter tho… its only good because its just ANOTHER thing they have to worry about if they r careless.

i stopped kara throwing with the strong and now focus my throw range around the extra range the roundhouse kara throw gives… its like chun li kara range. it helps me fight from alot farther away with my normals, and the range is so huge its really easy to see when u have a spot to kara. i just need to make sure i’m not in cl roundhouse range.

standing MK can KILL CHUN LI!!
