i think going to evo is only valid if u r the top cream of the crop going because u fall in the top 30 (heck i think its only worth it to make your money back)ā¦ going for āexperienceā is fine and dandy but if u have local comp (ny,la,tx,ne,etcā¦) then why go? why spend all that money to get worked up and have all those things against uā¦ the crowds, the sticks, the pressureā¦ u wont be playing at 100% anyways no matter WHAT tourny u play what makes going to evo worth the 400-600 dollar trip for east coast residents?
as long as uāve play ppl locally sometimes seriously u can gauge your skill pretty well off themā¦ cus we all just keep getting better over timeā¦ its just the really good players get better faster.
evo to me is overrated and if a tourny of that size and calibur was so important u would think they would have an evo on the east coast and mid west as well. but they dontā¦ its basically a tourny for ppl on one side of the country and the 10 random top cream of east coast/rest of the country that has the money to go over there from winning tournies on a regular bases already.
the same players doing well at evo r the same players ppl will get a chance to play if u live near them in the first place, having them all at one tourny is the ONLY good thing for having evo but then again do u really think they want more ppl going to it that would if they could if it was closer or less expensive? no, cus it would be alot harder for some of those ppl to get by in there bracketsā¦ we all know this.
not to discount that top 10 players but evo would be a hell of alot more interesting if ANY player with ability could have that chance. there r so many players that r so skilled but they dont even know about srkā¦ imagine the amount of ppl who dont know about srk and therefore dont know about evo.
just throwing out ideas on evoā¦ i get this idea that anyone and everyone who goes to evo has this higher attitude all the sudden like they r some hot shit or whateverā¦ u blow all that money to get where? unless u winā¦ or your a local who can get there cheap its not worth it. i rather just go to a break tourny if iām in ny or get in a car and road trip up florida for a tourny. if its worth anything more than money ppl who care will be there.

sorry dude i left cus on xbox live i need the full range of abilitiesā¦ and playin a remy online already i need to PARRY the lag was a bit too much for me so i dipped (its not u). u did have some nice tricks=].
i stuck around for a set against parryall for like 10 matches, he started kidding with me during the mirror matches by choosing the same costume remy i did before i did so i get some other one while i fought the one i choseā¦ humorous matches. not serious
i played parryallās remy and i didnt get ONE win from himā¦ it wasnt because he was a better player (he is good) it was because i would come down to the wire and then i get put in a position where i gotta parry, do something in a short frame period, move the fuck out of the way or i eat something big.
wake up supers didnt come out, rrfās after neutral throws were missed, random jumps from pelican stick. parrying was all i could attempt because i didnt have full motion, alot of time i was stuck dumbly infront of him blocking pokes since my range game is severely abolished if i cant respond on equal timing.
cus it sucks (xbox live) dont worry if u dont play me on xbox live. uāll win against me (or iāll win against u) and the win wont mean anything cus u would be fighting lag as well as that player.
local in state matches on high connections r all what xbox live is really good for. imo
lotus: i didnāt go to evo. i spent al the money to get an xbox, 3s, stick and xbl just to realize that the lag makes everything frustrating. and oh yes, i believe everyone here wants to step up for remy but still evo is too expensive. i just hope they do it somewhere near where i live next time

i agree with everās point on evo: going to evo does not make you godly, its a waste of money if u have local comp from ppl who go to evo regularly, but its your money to burn, and fuck consoles. fuck xboxLive too. that lag is a bitch and i feel like slappin it the fuck down every single time i go crawling back hoping for a decent connection.
lotus: you see my one match from the ranking battles at FFA? first round i was raped, second round was mine, third was a heartbreak. the chun i played went to evo, btwā¦
the ppl running the ranking battles just direct feed it from the cabinetās AV output jacks to a seperate video recorder. im sure its not hard to set up. just ask whoever runs your tourny to have them prepare it like a halfhour ahead to make sure everything is set up right. otherwise set the video recorder on a tripod at an angle and make sure no one bumps it or walks in front of it. thats how ive seen it done at my arcade anyways.

i purchased a 31 day PREMIUM membership so i can post the match. im having trouble converting the video to ZIP format apparently cuz when i try to post the vid it says that the file contains no data.
the ranking battle was single elimination and i only lasted one match, so i can either cut my match from the vid and post it, or leave it as is (158mb), or post both seperately. the commentary throughout is golden.
