BTW, PHD, I added you on AIM, hope you don’t mind, I think it’s easier to set up a time to meet on there than waiting for responses on here, my AIM is jimmyapc2
Maybe he meant it as something good, maybe if Remy is twice as flamboyant, no one will get near him, and his defensive game will be twice as good ;D
everyone has heard it before… man remy is so gay… blah blah blah, fire ball spamming/run away/turtling its just a compliment.
Maybe he’s just Emo, that’s why he like hates life, has long hair and has long sleeves to hide the scars from when he cuts himself while listening to linkin park Just a thought…
if thats his story i’m switching to ken
At least Ken gets chicks
Linking Park?! for fuck’s sakes! i think he’s more into european metal/goth. and damnit, i think i’ve had it with dressing up like remy on a casual basis… these hipsters are making my balls feel like they’re moving up to my stomach.
do you guys have some tips against advanced kens and dudleys?care to share them?
i always figured remy was a fan of aphex twin.
short cbk can be used to counter your opponents crossovers…
try to grab your opponent as soon as you both land
Dudley, ugh. That bastard is a monster. If a Dudley player corners Remy, you’re basically friggin DEAD. Here’s a good pointer, and while it’s obvious, many people don’t take it into consideration, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PARRY. Dudley options are just so friggin quick, that you’re better off blocking. If you’re waking up, and you see any attack coming, well, you know, EX RRF. If the attack is delayed, I would say just friggin block, or if he’s close enough, go for the throw.
But before that, you’re trying to keep him away. I’ve heard people say Remy’s RH was made to deal with Dudley. And it’s alright. For some reason the Duds I’ve played jumped at Remy alot. St. HK and MP are aimed directly at Dudley’s jump height, so use those to your advantage with LoV mix-up. I’d say in this case, up close, high LoVs are IMPORTANT. If prevents Dudley from jumping or moving foward at all. Because he can just jump while moving forward (again you DO NOT WANT HIM TO MOVE FORWARD), avoid low LoVs if possible. Up close it’s a little more risky, but you can go for it if you think it will stuff his attack attempts or he will eat one doing whatever.
I haven’t played this match in a long time, but that’s what I remember from when I was getting raped left and right by Dudley.
i wouldnt avoid low lov’s completely, from far away u bait them to jump over it u can have a sa1 waiting for them as they land or u can partition a rrf after it. also u gotta remember he stands alot more than he ducks as well and from far away its a great poke that slows him down him he doesnt want to jump over it.
remy vs dudley is alot like the remy vs hugo match because of the limited mobility both high and low lov’s allow. also its good to poke with cr mk vs dudley since if u use it at max range there is nothing he can do about it. remy ducks lower than his normal crouch while he does cr mk and cr hk, so with good timing u can hit dudley even if he tried st hp.
when getting up if u have space sometimes u can walk back away from his attack having him miss completely since remy is pretty thin. in the corner pick at him between lov’s and leave spaces where he can uppercut so u can counter. once he knows your waiting for the uppercut it makes his exit out of the corner pretty hard especially with meaty lov’s with all of remy’s far standing pokes and cr normals.
cr strong is good to do but i see too many ppl just throw it out so blatantly. yes its really, really fast and has far range but all and all it can be parried high or low. cr strong is good vs dudley if u have a lov buffered from it only otherwise dont throw out cr strong by itself against dudley cus he’s st hk it or parry it for sure.
for ken i play this match up from both sides on ken’s end he wants to knock remy down and harrass him as he gets up. either baiting him to wake up ex rrf, or thow or just block. either one of these is a bad situation for remy since it’ll lead to another knock down.
from mid range when he’s not going for knock down he’ll want to low forward and poke at your feet all day (or switch up with st kicks like st mk if u jump back if he is in range) so u gotta play to meet every low mk he does with a cbk. this then brings another mind game on when the cbk is coming and when can he srk that shit thats when u have the space to do cr lk into low lov to push him back and get some room to attack him. otherwise he’ll abuse u with sweeps and low forward all day if u dont time cbks to hit over it while he ducks down for one. as soon as u start trying to block low for low forward thats when he gets to throw u once u start blocking low expecting a low forward.
i see what you mean…all the situations you mentioned are the same situations i’ve been to…now i get the more clearer picture…what do you guys think of this:
in encountering ken’s air attacks (normal or crossover) is it more wiser to dash (either forward or backward) rather than counter it?(with st MK,st HK or cr HP)coz when i’m playing with these guys they tend to know which ones i’m gonna use and they just parry it…
also when im beginning to standup coming from a knockdown or recovering from a move,i try to out prioritize his moves (with LP or LK cancel Super)but no matter how hard i try i always get “out prioritized” or beaten up either by a combo or a combo cancelled to a Super…im beginning to think that all of ken’s move are high priority than remy’s…is this true?
about dudleys:all you guys said are true…i also noticed that when you are trying to counterattack them, they just wait for it then parry then he HP you and starts his freakin juggles…i noticed this when i tried to jump out…he just waited for me to attack so he can parry and attack but when i just plain jumped he also just jumped confirming my expectation…and the best Super to use against dudleys is SA1 so he can’t reach you since his game is in close range…
the kens i play here in vancouver usually wait for you to throw a sonic boom, so they can super jump and cross over. WATCH OUT FOR THAT
The crossups, I just block honestly. Usually, a good Ken player will jump and cross you up so that if you use any normal to counter, you’ll either attack in the wrong direction, or it will come out too slow. So just block crossups. Other jump attacks, it depends. If you find he’s parrying traditional attacks, try to get him close to Remy then bust out a close st. hp. It’s sure to surprise any Ken player. If you find they’re parrying many of your anti air counters, just begin to block, or try to go for the parry. It gets a little more complicated here, but if you parry, and they land, in my experience, a Dragon Punch is sure to come, so wait a bit, if there’s no Dragon Punch, at this point, your options are either throw, or if you have a charge stored, EX LoV or EX RRF. Basically, change your playing depending on what’s happening. Oh, try LP as an anti-air too, it’s hard to parry, and you can follow it up with a high LoV or a RRF (if they parry it).
Remy’s wake-up game is a little weak. The Ken player WANTS you to attack in this case though cause they know no matter what you do, you’re going to get stuffed. If you want to attack, your best option is EX RRF. Watch out for low and overhead mixups, but Ken’s overheads are fairly easy to spot, so there’s a chance for blocking too. It gets tricky if they’re really close to you, since they could be going for the throw.
As a side note, I find Remy deals with Ken’s footsies rather well, if you play it smart. Surprise EX LoVs seriously break down any dash or footsie attempts. You have to concentrate on keeping Remy at a distance where a low LoV will stuff whatever Ken has coming (usually cr. mk). Up close, it gets a little trickier, usually I do cr. mp xx LoV and play on what happens next. Everdred had the idea with CBK. This breaks Ken’s footsie game too, but you have to have the right distance. If you do it too close and use an improper strengths, you’ll be in Ken’s face, and you DO NOT want to be there. You should aim the CBK for the tip of Ken’s foot (usually cr. mk I am guessing). Don’t get obvious though, mix it up with LoVs, especially EX ones.
from reading what you wrote, you gots lots to learn
remy’s jumping HK, jumping MK, standing LK, and MK are all like sagat’s.
try using sagat in alpha 3. you’ll understand a bit more about remy.
if only we had sagat in 3rd strike ha ha ha. parry my 7-hit tiger uppercut bitch!!
I gots to learn? Like what?
The only thing I need to do is simply fight more Dudley matches. I never said I was the go-to guy for information, just offering what I do know and avoiding the BS theory fighter.
whats the difference between a cadillac and a dead baby?
I don’t have a cadillac in my garage
