Anyway, Ash is fucking awesome, even if he looks girly. And he’s totally not gay, I put money on him having a thing with Elisabeth.

Yeah I don’t think they have any gay folks in the KOF series…Ash makes me wonder though lol. I thought Benimaru was gay until I started played Capcom vs. SNK 1 & 2; if you notice when he fights a female (and I’m sure everyone knows this), his hair is down and he blows a kiss at them, then his hair goes back up. But I never really thought that any of the characters were gay at all; just a Japanese thing they have over there. I mean when I was stationed in Korea, dudes literally hold hands there to signify their friendship, but they not gay (and some of them kinda dress like the characters on KOF, like Ash lol).
back in 94, kyo looked gay compared to terry or yamazaki or haohmaru sor to say. remember this was still in the violent times back when anime was gritty and fighting game characters also looked the part, meaning like they could kick ass.
back then, i thought kyo looked a lil faggy and didnt do the main character part justice, which should have been terrys honer. though still not anywhere near as gay as beni. same feelings with iori, till i played him. it was forgivable. but nowadays, in these metro times, the lead characters and just characters in general (anime/ manga or games) the designs have been getting more and more gay (metro). which isnt the best idea for a fighter IMO. characters like ash, beni and lil grils like hinako and momoko just dont fit in a fighters universe. just my 2 cents. ive grown to accept most of them over time, but seeing a momoko in XI or a hinako in 2k or ash in 03 did have me like wtf.

now in 08, a character like kyo is actually quite a ROUGH GUY, gritty and more manly then lot of other characters in the cast. damn, times have changed a lot.
Well, I think Ash is gay, but even as a heterosexual that doesn’t bother me. Actually I fully condone it.
I’m glad America takes a backseat compared to other countries in regards to SNK.

IMO the new look for KOF is a lot more impressive than the new looks for SF.
God damn look at the fucking lighting on the characters from the flames. The hair and clothing movement looks god damn impressive. I hope the animation is as consistant as the screens and trailer.
Ash is one of the best character designs i’ve seen in a long time.

I thought Iori was a woman when I saw a preview of KOF 95 in an old EGM issue.Sometimes I don’t know what the designers be thinking about when they design the male characters.It makes you wonder if they are a little fagotty themselves

It’s really easy to figure out though. It’s the same reason why female fighting game characters look the way they look: fanservice. Ugly characters don’t sell as well as pretty ones, heh.
